GBPVR seems to be working, but my guide displays "No Show Details" for every channel. I'm getting the same thing with Schedules Direct and with mc2xml. I think I have it set up right, but most of this is kind of over my head - it's taken most of my Schedules Direct trial to figure out that I can't fix this on my own.

My card is a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1800. GB-PVR v1.3.11.

I don't have cable or satellite, and that may be where I'm getting part of the problem? Actually another question I had was if my card would let me use satellite if I connected a box to it. Hauppauge hints at some limitations on satellite/OTA tv with this card, but they also seem to combine those warnings with windows media center usage, and I just can't figure it out!

Thanks

Do you have an xmltv.xml file of a reasonable size (mine's about 4k for 20 or so channels), and is your recording/capture source pointed to it?

I use mc2xml and have good luck with it.

my xmltv file is 6mb. I'm fairly certain that I have it set correctly: in settings my EPG source is the XMLTV plugin, and the path to the xml file is correct.

Hmm, have you tried updating the epg from config?

It seems I may have had to rescan at some point also but now I can't remember exactly why.

Sorry I can't be more help. I've only got a tenuous grip on most of this stuff myself.

Cheers

yeah, I've rescanned for new channels and updated the epg from config, from the pxr2 settings menu, and from the taskbar. No change.

Thanks, I appreciate your trying!

Looks like it's found stuff
Code:
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 3 WHSV : 415 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 3 WTKR : 431 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 4 WRC : 343 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 5 WTTG : 494 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 6 WTVR : 407 shows

2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 8 WRIC : 407 shows

2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 17 WXOBLP : 42 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 19 WCAV : 371 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 23 WCVE : 567 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 29 WVIR : 384 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 35 WRLH : 528 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 41 WHTJ : 567 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 56 WNVC : 460 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 57 WCVW : 474 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 65 WUPV : 530 shows
2009-02-03 17:38:15.588    VERBOSE    [6]     - channel 66 WPXW : 490 shows

And in the pvrx2 log you can see it rendering. Are all the (No Details found) of uniform size, or do they change size?

Also have you looked in the xmltv file for program names? Then maybe look in the gbpvr.db3 for the same program. Perhaps your xmltv file is not up to spec?? Just guessing here.

the No Show Details boxes are all the same size in the tv guide. My xmltv.xml file has tons of program information. The gbpvr.db3 file seems to have the same program data in it too, but...I searched both files for the names of a couple of shows that I know are scheduled to air in the next few hours and couldn't find them. I dunno, could my xml file be old somehow?

If you zip and email your gbpvr.db3 file to me, I'll tell you what the problem is. I'll PM you my email address.

If the DB has the information then that assumes that its importing it correctly.

You haven't got duplicate channels and you're looking at the old versions and newer version exist further down?

Also after an epg update you've shut down pvrx2 and restarted it?

Thirdly have you got millions of channels and it's taking a while for the screen to update?

email sent, thanks!!

Well, I have 11 channels. Smile On the guide I seem to be able to scroll through them all and back to the first one, so it doesn't seem to me that I'm only looking at the newest group. And yeah, I've shut down pvrx2 and even rebooted before checking the guide again.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone!
