OK, with the US doing the whole analog to digital switch I figure it was time to upgrade, even though I didn't really want to.

I had a Hauppauge 500mce that worked great, so I decided to go with the Hauppauge 2250 version. I still use the 500mce for recording from the SAT box, but plan on using the 2250 for the digital channels from free over the air waves (antenna).

So, the problem, installed the new card and drivers, which went smoothly. Had GBPVR (version 1.3.11) scan for Digital channels (Recording Source: Digital Recording Plugin) and it found two channels to start with out of 12 possible (that I know of). Scan again this time it found 4.

So, I did what any one would do, first I messed with the antenna, then replaced the cable all with no luck. Every time I would scan I would get 0 to 6 channels had once. And the channels I would get wouldn't always be the same from scan to scan (even if I didn't do a thing). I would get similar results using the WinTV software that came with the Hauppauge for TV.

After hours of scanning I did manage to get all channels except 12.1 in to GBPVR, but never had all channels listed at once. And for 12.x I just guessed based off of the one's I already had and this link (http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/lin...code=83687).

9.1 T:10,0,0~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>9.1 KNIN-HD (000(AC3))
9.2 T:10,0,0~P:4~V:65~A:68~PMT:64~PCR:65~N:>9.2 CW+ (000(AC3))

4.1 T:21,0,0~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>4.1 IDPTV (000(AC3))
4.3 T:21,0,0~P:5~V:81~A:85~PMT:80~PCR:81~N:>4.3 LEARN (fre(AC3))
4.4 T:21,0,0~P:6~V:97~A:101~PMT:96~PCR:97~N:>4.4 WORLD (fre(AC3))
4.2 T:21,0,0~P:7~V:113~A:116~PMT:112~PCR:113~N:>4.2 IDPTVHD (eng(AC3))

6.1 T:24,0,0~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>6.1 KIVI DT (000(AC3))
6.2 T:24,0,0~P:4~V:65~A:68~PMT:64~PCR:65~N:>6.2 KIVI SD (spa(AC3))

7.1 T:26,0,0~P:1~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>7.1 KTVB-HD (eng(AC3))
7.2 T:26,0,0~P:2~V:65~A:68~PMT:64~PCR:65~N:>7.2 KTVB-SD (eng(AC3))

2.1 T:28,0,0~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>2.1 KBCI-DT (eng(AC3))

12.1 T:13,0,0~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>12.1 KTRVDT (eng(AC3))
12.2 T:13,0,0~P:4~V:65~A:68~PMT:64~PCR:65~N:>12.2 KTRV-SD (eng(AC3))

Now if I go to 12.1 in the TV Guild, but it has intermittent sound and artifacting picture.

After fighting it for hours, I decided to try and hook it to the TV (its newer and has digital turning) directly, bypassing the HTPC. It found 13 digital channels and they all work perfectly.

If I turn channel 2.1 with the Hauppauge I get no sound, to intermittent sound and picture artifacts. With the TV's built in turner 2.1 comes in just fine, so with that I know the signal coming in is good enough, so now it just comes down to drivers (I assume drivers since both GBPVR and WinTV end up with the same results).

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Anyone know that my problem is?

It wasn't until I was writing this post did I realize I over looked one thing. I did download the latest offical driver I didn't consider looking for a Beta. I don't usually do beta's unless I'm having problem and I was, so I gave (090123_22xx_7.6.1.27023.PreRelease) a try.

Now when I scan all 13 channels showed up in one try. Yaaaa!!!

Still have some problems watching channel 2.1, 6.1, 6.2, but the rest come in fine. With the three problem channels it is mainly the sound that is an issue. Its very intermittent or slow and the picture will still have some artifacting.
