Analog Capture quality improvements

Would running from a STB to PVR150 or pvr500 via Svideo make much of an improvement over composite?

And are there any options for recording STB off component over here? would that require an HD PVR?

The picture from my STB looks a little soft.

Svideo would be marginally matter than composite. Component would be a bit better again, but yes, would require an HDPVR.
