Hi Sub, great program. I'm still fine tuning the setup, but it gets more impressive each day. Many thanks!

I'm having a consistent problem with my Hauppauge 45-button remote. Any time I play back recorded material, the remote seems to be ignored until I use the mouse - just once - to click on a skip button or pause button. The remote then works pefectly after that for the duration of watching that video.

If I exit to the menu then start another video or resume the same video, I again need to click on one of the on-screen buttons with the mouse before the remote works again. Just moving the mouse to pull up the on-screen buttons isn't enough; I have to click one of them.

I am running 1.3.11, but I noted the same phenomenon with 1.3.7. HVT-1600, and yes, I did the 45 button Fix and IR restart.

Any ideas? Have I configured something wrong?

Do any tray icons appear when you start playback? ie, stealing the focus?

I've been running it in full screen mode, so I didn't notice, however I have been using the remote to navigate from the main menu to the video library and to start the playback, so the focus is definitely on the GBPVR app up until that point.

I'll run BGPVR in windowed mode the next time and check for new tray icons, but I'm thinking that's a red herring...

That definitely sounds like something stealing the focus. The mouse click returns the focus to GB-PVR.

I get this this too when playing any H264 file using CoreAVC, even though no tray icon shows up. Core support informed me that it is a known bug with the latest release, and is already fixed in the next version - but no date for it yet.
So even if a tray icon does not show, it could still be the decoder you are using for your video playback stealing the focus...

You are correct, guys: running in windowed mode, I can see that the DivX icon appears when I play anything requiring that codec. Clicking anywhere in the GBPVR window - not just on a button - returns focus and the remote starts working.

Sorry for doubting you :-) but I was previously exiting GBPVR to check the systray icons, and of course the codec was being unloaded when I did that...

So the loss of focus is a function of the codec, and there's nothing I can do to prevent this?

if it's the divx codec, there is a utility you can download to stop this from happening..

Once you have removed the anoying divx tool ...in the [default] section or my irremote.ini, I added

GRNPOWER={run(c:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\pvrx2.exe)}

this will launch pvrx2 for you if it is not running or give it focus again if it is already running.

(once you have saved irremote.ini you need to restart ir to load the new settings)

I had that issue with Divx before. Its annoying but easily fixable with the Divx utility. The other option is to use ffdshow and its codecs and ignore Divx all together.

Thanks, guys. I've downloaded the DivX tweak and will install it later today. gEd, I think I will also use your strategy as a fallback in case some other process usurps the focus.

In reading the doc wiki, it looks like I could also stop ir32.exe and let pvrx2 have sole ownership of the remote. Lots of options! Thanks again.
