recording playback freeze on skip

I try to skip during a recording and the image freezes and will not play back. I think this might have started when I did the latest update on the software. I also changed the tv card at the same time. If I look at old recordings they look to be in MPG format, the new in DVR-ms. Other formats look to behave, but not the DVR_MS. Is this a codec problem maybe? any suggestions about a solution path? Thanks.

Try setting your Audio Renderer in "Playback tab" to "System Default" if it is not already there.

Thanks. Didn't occur to me that the audio renderer would have this effect. I'll give it a shot this eve.

Did this work for you? I'm getting almost the same problem on playbacks. I skip forward, and the video freezes. A snippet of the audio from the place I skipped to plays, and then the whole thing freezes. If I wait for about 20 seconds, it sometimes starts going again. This only happens with some recordings, and generally I think it's ones that have some tuning errors in them (skips).

Yes it did. Sub, suggested it to me when I had the same problem quite a while back. Sorry it hasn't helped you.
