Ok, so I have had my share of problems getting my new HTPC to work, but in the end I now have decent picture quality and the PVR seems to work very well with the 2 analog tuners my capture card has. The problem comes when I try to tune QAM channels.

At first I could not get any QAM under any program (and I think I tried them all). I tried all of the beta drivers, and until I updated to the second to newest driver set (ends with 64 I think) I never saw any QAM. With the newest drivers (7.5.25.27007) and WinTV 6 I get clear QAM. A TON of QAM. Every basic cable channel in multiple resolutions it seems, but still no love with GB-PVR.

I have tried every setting with the QAM.INI Manager (and aparently when I try to scan/map channels it pulls from ALL.INI, not QAM.INI, but a simple rename does the trick) to no avail.

My setup:

MB: FOXCONN A7GM-s
CPU: AMD 5050e
RAM: 2 GB Corsair DDR2-800
Card: Huappauge 2250
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3

Any ideas?

Can you do a scan, then zip and attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log?

Wow, fast response. Here are the logs as requested. I performed the scan with the "Default with channel frequencies" setting from QAM.INI manager.

Its not managing to start the device. Are you sure nothing else in the machine is already using the device?

Actually, no. I have beyondTV and SageTV (never went through the install though) and WinTV on the system (all in an attempt to get the Digital to work).

Would it have this non-start issue even when GB-PVR works correctly with the analog tuner?

Wow. Ok, I uinstalled everything, drivers and all, re-installed just the newest beta driver for the 2250, and only gb-pvr (newest) and the scan is now pulling in channels.

Thanks for the support (even if it was just hand holding an idiot through basic troubleshooting Wink.

I am having a similar issue. I am running win7 beta, with my 2250 QAM card. I have configured the Capture source, but when I click "Map digital channels.." button config.exe crashes and this is the last portion on the log:
