My ATI650 scanned fine for QAM and live tv seems to work so far. For my 1600, I have not been 100%. LiveTV isn't working though status shows it to be live. I removed the device and added it back and used the BDA Migration tool. Same problem. It mapped them just fine but they don't play. When I did another scan using the center frequencies like normal, it kept the migrated channels and new ones were added in the new scan but not nearly as many as should be.
Normally, my scans start with something in the 391250 range but this scan started at 541250 and went to 859259.....a little higher than any othe scan I've made.
I'm making progress but this 1600 is a challenge. However, it does work in W7 Media Center.
Is simply removing the device from capture sources enough to clear things out before adding it back or is there something else that I should do to insure it's cleaned?

You'll also need to add this line to your config.xml:
<BDAUseGenericNPForATSC>true</BDAUseGenericNPForATSC>
With these in place, if the scan still fails, zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
Added the additional line to config.xml right after <BDAUseCachedSequenceHeaders>true</BDAUseCachedSequenceHeaders> and dropped in patched NativeUtilities.dll but still can't find channels under Vista x64 w/TV Pack installed...
BTW: Had to remove the <BDAUseGenericNPForATSC>true</BDAUseGenericNPForATSC> just to get the tuner to RX ATSC channels again.

Whether you need that settings depends on the drivers you're using, and some registry settings. If you dont need it for ATSC, then you most likely dont need it for QAM either.
Killed UAC and ran Re-RegisterFilters.bat after adding back in the line <BDAUseGenericNPForATSC>true</BDAUseGenericNPForATSC> into config.xml...still not able to map any channels...thanks for looking into this!

After working last night, I'm not getting zero file size recordings with both my HDHR and 2250. Logs enclosed.
Should say the analog files are fine but the QAM are the ones giving me 0 files.

sub, have you had a chance to look at the logs and see why I'm getting 0 size recording files? I see all sorts of things there but not sure what they actually mean. Last nights recording does the same. Live TV plays fine and there are no problems with the signal quality.

Sorry, no I didnt. I got busy. I'll try again to find time today.
whurlston Wrote:Have you tried setting BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording to "1" in config.xml? Don't know if it will make a difference but it couldn't hurt.
I'll try that tonite and see what happens.
