I am not sure if any of it is right as I am not sure how to pass it on through config.xml. FFmpeg documentation is scarce and crappy. I have read numerous examples but they are not descriptive on the different commands.

You are now trying to use the bat-file, right?
Does the batfile try to start at all?
Maybe you should put the batfile in the gbpvr-dir and add a change dir command at the start of the batfile: cd "third party\ffmpeg"

That would result to this:
Code:
cd "Third party\ffmpeg"
ffmpeg.exe -y -i %1 -ab 128k -ac 2 -acodec mp3 -deinterlace -f avi -qscale 7 -pass 1 -threads auto -vcodec xvid -vtag XVID TEMP.avi
ffmpeg.exe -y -i temp.avi -ab 128k -ac 2 -acodec mp3 -deinterlace -f avi -qscale 7 -pass 2 -threads auto -vcodec xvid -vtag XVID "%~dp1%~n1.avi"
DEL TEMP.avi

I found some more info: You have to specify the name of the logfile that should be written, then in the 2nd pass you have to point to that logfile again. You might want to do a search on videohelp.com. Or download winff, then you can see the commandlines it uses for 2-pass.Smile

Thanks for the help. I think the big problem is how to tell config.xml to use the .bat file for 2-pass. I have this at the moment and it apparently does not work...

Code:
<Conversion name="XviD 2-pass" exe="XviD 2-pass.bat" />

Where did you put the batfile?

After alittle search, I think the batfile should be in: C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\third party

The good news is the .bat file itself seems to work well and does 2-pass XviD encoding. A log file is created regardless.

That really is good news. So the only problem is to get the batfile to work from config.xml?
