No Sound in LiveTV with HVR-1110

Hi there,

I have GB-PVR configured, and video works, I can flick through channels and its all fine, but I get no sound on any of the channels. I'm from NZ and I'm using the Digital Tuner for the Freeview channels.

Originally I just had the Hauppauge drivers installed and then I installed GB-PVR, but I would get no video or sound. Then I installed CyberLink PowerCinema 5 and then I had some more decoders available in GB-PVR config which got me video - but I still have no sound.

I'm running Vista x64 Ultimate.

I've attached my filtercheck.log file in case it is a filter issue. I'm not sure what logs you want from /logs/ .

If this is DVB-T Freeview, then you most likely need to install the monogram aac decoder. http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2009/03/08...oder-0960/

Yup it is DVB-T Freeview.

The monogram aac decoder was already listed in the decoders - so I figured it was already installed, but I just downloaded and registered the .ax file. I put the .ax file in the devnz\gb-pvr Program Files folder. Then ran regsvr32. I configured GB-PVR to use the monogram aac decoder for aac and he-aac.

Now when I start up PVRX2 and select Live TV, it flashes black then returns to the main screen, but if I try select Live TV second time straight after the window goes black and then it proceeds to lock up and the only way to quit or do anything with it is to End Task it.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Set your audio renderer back to 'system default'. You've currently got it set to some Cyberlink audio renderer.

okay what the hell. I'm sure I'd tried it with everything set to system default but it didn't work... however now it is.... sigh.

Okay one more thing... what would be causing choppy sound?

TV1, TV2 and TV3 seem to be okay, but most other channels have choppy sound a lot of the time, and on some channels the picture goes choppy every few minutes too.
The reason I tried GB-PVR in the first place was that CyberLink PowerCinema would chop to green every second frame or so for channels other than TV1 and TV2 and the sound would be choppy too. Could this be a signal issue?

If both apps were having problems with sound being choppy, then it could be some signal issue, or maybe some issue with your soundcard or its drivers. Or maybe something to do with the decoders you're using (or you machine not keeping up on the video front).

Pretty sure its not a hardware-keeping-up-issue... I have a quad-core AMD Phenom and an ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2...

Don't wish to bother you much more but do you know anything I can try to resolve what you suggested being the issue?
