PVRX2 section in irremote.ini

Just done a fresh install of Windows XP and GB-PVR and had trouble getting my 45 button Hauppage remote to do anything on the GB-PVR main menu.

Clicked "fix button settings" in the config app and still no joy. Then I compared the irremote.ini to my backed up version and noticed the new one didn't have a PVRX2 section?

One to investigate?

I just checked here an it seems to be working. Do you get any error in your config.exe.log when you click the button?

Unfortunately I didn't take a copy of the log file when it happened and can't reproduce it now. Bit of a waste of time really, sorry.

.... noticed the new one didn't have a PVRX2 section...

I just checked my irremote.ini and [pvrx2] is the last set of entries. It was a little hard to find because there was no space before it so it could be confused with the list before it.

The last time my 45 button Hauppauge remote didn't work was when I added a second card. Apparently, the blaster needs to be plugged into the most recently added card.

The other cause of no response for me is when another application sends a message like "want to upgrade to a new version" thus stealing focus. There was a solution many versions ago (pre-pvrx2) where you could add a line of code to the irremote.ini that would let the green power button give the focus back to pvrx2 so the remote would work. If I find the right lines of code, I will amend this post to give that solution too.
