how to hide cable box guide and channel info

I have the remote and IR blaster working with my cable box, however, when I change the channel I see comcast's channel info behind Media Portal's channel info. Is there any way to prevent this?

First, this is the support forum for GBPVR, not MediaPortal.

But that said, no there is no way to prevent it. The menu/guide is part of the video output from the cable box. So any capturing from the cable box will also capture that menu overlay.

I have the Motorola 6200 and I have successfully hidden the cable box info by going into the setup and telling it to output 1080i and 4x3 override to 480p. Doing this the guide still displays on the component output but no the video or s video output. This however does not work on the newer Motorola dxc3200 I have which displays in on all outputs regardless.
