Just got GBPVR working on daughters PC with Hauppauge DVB 90002 card. Did first recording last night and have a few qu's:

(Note: I have looked at the http://gbpvr.bladerhq.com website, but can't find much usage info)

Is it possible to watch what is being recorded ? Tried to access Live TV whilst recording and kept getting an error message saying something like 'Cannot access channel'. (I guess it was trying to start Live TV with the last channel viewed on Live TV - which was different to that being recorded, so it didn't work).

Is it possible to start recording immediately? Only thing I can find is Man Rec which has start time which moves in 10 min slots. Bit of a shame if program has already started and I have to wait up to 10 mins before I can record.

Once program is recording, is it possible to manually stop it? Started recording wrong channel last night and tried to stop recording from Recordings->Pending on GBPVR which showed the top prog in list as 'Recording'. Trying to cancel recording from this item didn't work. Think I 'Restarted Recording Service' from the GBPVR tray icon which stopped the TV card from recording, but GBPVR still showed the prog as recording in Recordings->Pending, and wouldn't allow anything else to be recorded because it thought the TV card was busy. I had to wait until the program had finished before I could record something else.

Should GBPVR bring the PC out of Standby to record ? PC had Windows XP installed with BIOS power saving set to S1. I have now changed it to S3. As an experiment, set GBPVR to record a scheduled prog whilst PC was in Standby and PC didn't start up. I have read I may to reinstall XP with new BIOS setting. Help !!! Will GBPVR bring a PC out of Hibernate ?

That's it for now. Hope someone can help.

Yes, go to recordings, pending, select recording, select watch

Goto TVguide hit quick record, or press pause in liveTV (and I think there's a way to transfer that to the permanent recordings)

Normally I just goto recordings->pending select, and click cancel. That kills it normally.

Yes, it will, but it'll only work if your machine is willing to live up to its end of the bargain. It works for most people, but the occassional machine just never wakes up.

I agree - my machine wakes up from standby to record programs. For some reason, it does not seem to go back to standby mode. Overall this seems to work great, though, and I have no complaints.

You can also hit the record button while watching live tv. It will then save the show, even the part that was before you actually pressed the record button (given that you have watched any of the show before that moment Rolleyes )
