Slowly I am getting the migration from my old PC running GBPVR to this new one worked out (moving over old recordings, etc.) , but I am really puzzled by this one.... running PVR2 to an HDTV (1080p).

I can't get F7 to work (it doesn't do anything) and my 1920x1080 recordings play compressed horizontally so there are two black bars on the edges. Sort of half the size of those needed to make the ratio 4:3. I have set the TV size in config.exe to 16:9. I programmed a button on the Hauppage remote for F7 (editing irremote.ini) and that didn't work (just in case my keyboard wasn't working right).

GBPVR reports that the recording is 1920x1080 (actually slightly larger by a couple of pixels) and when I play it back with MediaPlayer it fills the screen as expected.

This is out of my config.xml.

<TvShape>16x9</TvShape>
<AspectRatioModes shape="4x3">
<AspectRatioMode name="Auto" ratio="0,0,0,0" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Fill" ratio="0,0,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox" ratio="0,0.125,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Remove LetterBox" ratio="0,-0.125,1,1.125" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Center Cut" ratio="-0.05,-0.17,1.04,1.17" />
<AspectRatioMode name="PillarBox" ratio="0.08,0,0.92,1" />
</AspectRatioModes>
<AspectRatioModes shape="16x9">
<AspectRatioMode name="Auto" ratio="0,0,0,0" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Fill" ratio="0,0,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Remove LetterBox" ratio="0,-0.125,1,1.125" />
<AspectRatioMode name="PillarBox" ratio="0.08,0,0.92,1" />
</AspectRatioModes>
<AspectRatioModes shape="16x10">
<AspectRatioMode name="Auto" ratio="0,0,0,0" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Fill" ratio="0,0.05,1,0.95" />
<AspectRatioMode name="PillarBox" ratio="0.08,0,0.92,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Remove LetterBox" ratio="0,-0.125,1,1.125" />
</AspectRatioModes>

P.S.
My next issue is audio sync issues for QAM recordings, but I see other threads on that which I can study.

Re F7 not working, what video codec and render are you using?

Cyberlink
VMR9 Custom

(I had to use the Microsoft tool to find the Cyberlink codec as it wasn't visible in the config.exe dropdown. I declared it the system default with the MS tool and then picked default in GBPVR.)

Are you sure it's using it? Some Cyberlink docoders can't be used by 2rd part apps like GB-PVR.

See this reg fix for Cyberlink and apsect ratio (I had to do this myself so can confirm it works)

some useful info on these pages (see the 2nd link for the Cyberlink reg file):

I suspect it is using the Cyberlink decoder because the lip sync improved quite a bit and the video appearance changed as well. When I changed to VMR9 Full Screen Exclusive then F7 started working.

Thanks for jogging me on what to play with....
