Very odd. I didn't think this was possible, but Live TV is working properly on my MVP, but not on the PC. It just goes blank for two seconds and returns to the Menu.

Live TV used to work on my PC, but hasn't worked for a month or so now. I don't really use Live TV on my MVP that much, but often use it on my PC.

The error when trying to run Live TV is nearly identical to what i see on this post but could not be resolved by turning off Windows Firewall:

MVP runs LiveTV fine with the Firewall turned on.

Any suggestions? Or should I thank the TV Gods that LiveTV is working fine on my MVP and just let it go?

Is the recording service running?

Reproduce, and then zip and attach your logs.

I think its running. I am able to record shows with no problem. But I will attach the logs tonight after work. Appreciate the speedy reply.

Can you zip and attach your config.xml file?

In the logs it looks like a firewall getting in the way of communication between PVRX2.exe and GBPVRRecordingService.exe.

I appreciate the speedy input. Any suggestions? I already have both PVRX2.exe and the recording Service as exceptions in my Windows Firewall settings, and have tried turning off Windows Firewall to no avail. I have seen several other buggy things--like canceling a recording on the PC is very difficult and often can lock up PVRX2 on the PC, but it cancels fine on the MVP.

Scratching my head for more ideas. Thanks.

Maybe search your whole hard drive for extra copies of config.xml. There should only be one.

I did find an extra copy of the config.xml, so thanks for that suggestion. My LiveTV still doesn't work on the PC, but I guess I can live with that for now. I will keep plugging away and if I find a solution, i will let the forum know.

As always, your time and input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
