Austra02 Wrote:My apologies - I don't meant to hijack this thread but it seems like the perfect place to ask this question...

I have just discovered GBPVR and must say I am very impressed with the product so far. I have seen mentioned in the forums (in various places) about the "PostProcessing tab" in the config app. Problem is, I don't have this tab in the config app at all. I am running version 1.3.7 which I found via the forums (the main website still has the current version as 1.3.11, interestingly).

Has there been a later version released; or do I need specific settings enabled to allow the PostProcessing tab in the config app? Obviously, this also means that my .ts files in my video library, when selected, do not present an option to convert to another format. This is something that I would like to do - i.e. convert files that are already recorded (and subsequently in my video library) to, say, DivX.

Apologies also if this ends up being a really stupid question - but I am just starting out with all of this so it is a bit of a learning curve :-)

Cheers,
Scott.

Thanks for the prompt reply. But I am still confused: 1.3.11 (in normal software circles) would be an earlier version that 1.3.7. Does the normal software version and revision numbering hold true for GBPVR? If that is the case then surely 1.3.7 is newer (I was originally running 1.3.11 and it also had no "PostProcessing Tab" anyway).

But even so, this - and even the '1.3.11 Survival Guide' don't actually answer my question regarding a PostProcessing Tab in the config app. I simply do not have that showing in my config app. Further, I noticed on the 1.3.11 online config manual that the PostProcessing Tab is not in the screen capture there either... so I am assuming that a setting needs to be enabled somewhere to make this tab appear????

Thanks in advance,
Scott.

Sorry - my bad: for some reason I thought there was a 1.3.1.1 instead of 1.3.11 - it's been a long week Sad...

But, as I mentioned, I had 1.3.11 and still didn't have the PostProcessing Tab; so my original question still stands - even taking my stupidity out of the equation!!

Cheers,
Scott.

Technically it is the "Processing" tab. There is a section related to Conversion Processing as shown in the screen shot.

Take a look at the AutoConvert DVR-MS dropdown combo. Videio I-Pod does a converstion to MP4. You can setup any conversion you want via the <CustomFFmpegConversions> in the config.xml. Make sure to back up your config incase you make a mistake.

Okay great, thanks.

I've now made sure all of that is set as recommended; but as I understand it, this doesn't allow me to convert files that are ALREADY created - i.e. like a manual convert of an earlier recorded TV show).

There are numerous post throughout this thread where the forum administrator (Name: SUB) mentions a 'PostProcessing Tab' in the config app (see first reply from SUB in the following post): http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...conversion

This is where my confusion lies - I don't see that tab at all; further, I don't see the 'Transcode' function in the Video Library that he mentions either.

Again, I apologise if I am missing a very simple thing here - and I really appreciate the help! Another example of why Forums are brilliant places to get support for software!

Cheers,
Scott.

If you are using the "slick" skin those functions are missing, try going into config & changing to the "blue" skin & then have a look at the Video Library & you should see a "Transcode" button on the left near the bottom of the buttons.

That's was it!!! Thanks for the info.

I'm happily transcoding away now!

Cheers,
Scott.
