This is because the control is intended to support remote controls which have aloha numeric keys. This means that to get a number on a keyboard you need to press the same number multiple times.

This is likely a codec issue on your machine. Standard mpeg files captured from DVB-T, support MPG 2 audio which is likely to have been installed on your machine. VLC uses inbuilt audio and video codecs so does not require them to be installed in windows.

To save space I compress the audio using MP3, this means the mp3 audio codec is not installed on your machine. I suggest you get the Lame codec from http://www.free-codecs.com and install it. This should hopefully fix you issue if not just let me know and i will investigate further.
Smiler, thanks for your support.

Still having a problem with the lame_enc.dll (LAME MP3) however. I have it, but how to install it is the problem. The package at free-codecs includes no install routine, no INF file, nada. It also won't install using Regsvr32, I've searched the web for hints (almost all are application-specific - ie put it in the app folder), I've searched these forums, I've tried putting it in the gbpvr folder, in the Windows folder, in Windows/System32, and nothing works.

Now, after two or three hours of trying, I've run out of ideas. Any help you could offer would be great, thanks.

So still being able to grab other than BBC shows with your plugin would be nice Smile

The next version will be based on the get_iplayer script, and therfore should offer all the same functionality Wink

You will likely need to install the direct show filters, the easiest way is probably to either download a codec pack (such as k-lite) which will install all the codecs you need. It is a bit of a risk. or find an MP3 codec that is directshow compatible. There should be a few available on free codecs.

Failing that I would download FFDshow as that will allow you to select the correct codec.

You can also get it here. IMHO better than installing a codec pack.

Thanks - have downloaed the Lame AX - though I've a feeling I've already installed this ages ago. And FFDshow has been my staple decoder until very recently, when I upgraded the graphics card to an ATI 4650 that can decode in hardware, so I can be ready for a move to DVB-S and HD. Now ofcourse the video decoding work is done by the ATI card.

I'll report back as soon as I can get the PVR out of standby....

The solution to the loss of audio problem was to enable the ffdShow audio encoder. Can't say, initially at least, that I've noticed any downside to this - audio quality seems the same as before.

Thats good, the audio quality is actually pretty good, I think it is AAC @ 48kHz. The video quality is only less than that of the MPEG4 stream.

The video quality will hopefully be resolved in version 3 of the plugin. Smile

Has anyone tried this with a PCH instead of the MVP? Do files have to be transcoded?

The downloaded file needs to be transcoded - but the plugin does this automatically.
