Sub,

I have several ongoing issues, one is in this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=41935

which I think you are working on.

The second is the problem mentioned in this thread which did not happen to me until I upgraded to the latest HDHomerun firmware:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=42232

A third issue that may or may not be related to one of the above issues is that my local cable company remapped the frequency of a couple of my digital channels. They have done this in the past and all I had to do was rescan the digital channels in config.exe and select the new frequency to be mapped. I just did this for the three channels that they reassigned but now when I choose the channel I just get I blank black screen. If I try to quick record, it starts making a .ts file but I cannot play it if I choose "play" from the guide menu. If I cancel the recording, then I can play the recorded program just fine. (I get same results using DVR-MS mux) Any ideas?

BTW the CBS channel is still behaving as described in the first referenced post above.

I havnt looked into since I've been back in the country, but I dont intend to.

I dont intend to look into this any further than I already have. From what I can tell its some quirk of the latest HDHomeRun firmware or drivers, and isnt occurring on any of the other devices (Hauppauge etc). To be honest, I'm bit sick of HDHR quirkiness.

Reproduce this, then post the logs and I'll see if anything stands out.

May I ask why?; you kinda led me to believe that you would work on this when you got back to NZ. I know it is affecting a few other gbpvr users. And is a big problem since it prevents recording anything on that channel.

I see; well I will see if the people at Silicondust can help; or tell me how to roll back to older firmware.

OK here are the logs. BTW, I noticed that if I tried "quick recording" BEFORE trying "live TV", then I COULD play the file while it was recording. On the other hand doing "live tv" first and then trying to "quick record" no video.

Sorry - that was a typo. I meant to say "I do intend" on that one.

What do you mean? I dont follow you. Do you mean bring the TV Guide up in live tv and scheduling from there, or doing live tv then exiting out then scheduling a quick record from the TV Guide. Either way, its sounding a bit like the other problem linked above, with HDHR only being about to view one channel.

Let me try to be clearer.

Situation 1

1. Start GBPVR
2. Select TV Guide and go to bad acting channel
3. Choose "quick record"; program turns red.
4. Now while still in guide choose to "play" the show
5. It plays the program fine.

Situation 2

1. Start GBPVR
2. Select TV Guide and go to bad acting channel
3. Choose "watch"; screen goes black with brief OSD of program info
4. Bring up guide while in live tv (black screen still showing) and select "quick record".
5. Bring up guide again while in live tv and select play; video does NOT play
6. Bring up guide and cancel recording
7. Go into recording menu and select just canceled program and it plays fine.

This happened BEFORE I upgraded HDHomerun firmware. Also, the other digital channels do not behave this way. Only the ones that changed frequency from the cable company. So I don't think it is part of firmware upgrade related issues.

Does the above explanation clear things up on what's going on; or did I make it worse Wink

It understand what you mean. I cant think of any reason why that would be, but will try it here when I find the time.

Do you have multi-record enabled? If so, does disabling it have any effect on this behaviour?

Ok. I'll try to test this when I find some time over the next couple of days.
