mdapi / encrypted channel not working

We'd probably need some analysis from Martin to see what mvpmcx2 thinks is happening. The first chunk of the transport stream may contain encrypted audio/video packet, up until the point the decryption started happening (after the keys had been found in the stream etc). This maybe confusing things for mvpmcx2.

He'd probably need a copy of one of the live tv files after a short period.

With livetv, the file is stored in your temp folder. If the size is between 2 MB and up to 50 MB, please a copy on megaupload and I willl have a look. Note that it has to be a TS file for best performance.

I am not sure that the file content is the problem, based on wappy's comments that recordings play ok.

When the PCH tries to watch an encrypted channel it does not look like the MDAPI plugin even starts. I don't get the DVB icon in the system tray or the icon from the filter the is supposed to talk with the subscription card (have tested several, but lately I have been using acamd).

When I watch it directly on the PC I get a DVB icon and the acamd icon in the system tray.

The recording service, which handles live tv on PCH runs as a different user account, so usually you wouldnt see any icon get created in this situation (it'd be in some other desktop session which isnt visible to you on the PC). When you do live tv directly on the PC, its running as you, so you'd see the icons.

As long as recordings work, and correctly decrypt channels, then it'll also be using it for live tv on the PCH.

BabelFish, that sample does not appear to be playable even on a PC.

BableFish, can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs subdirectory?

Logfiles. I removed the logs, restarted the service and then started LiveTV from the TV-guide to watch Eurosport (encrypted). Caused my PCH to hang. Restarted the PCH, started livetv on SVT1 (not encrypted) and switched to an encrypted channel (did not get any picture).

Try running ReRegisterFilters.bat.

The recording service wouldnt have been able to decrypt without this. (so no decrypted recordings, or live tv on the PCH)

Live tv works on the PCH, but no decrypted channels. Decrypting works in interactive mode without any problems.

I have reregistered filters using the batchfile, and also added a reregister of the mdapifilter.ax manually.

It works the same way. Is the mdapifilter.ax loaded in any special way?

If I remember correctly this is installed "by hand" after everything else. Could it be some accessproblem since the service runs using the local system account?
