Hello Smile

Yesterday evening I updated GBPVR to the latest version and now I'm having no end of problems. I'm not sure if it's directly caused by the update for certain, but I'd apreciate any help.

Problem 1: GBPVR in Live TV mode is so jerky it is impossible to watch. No settings have changed (as far as I am aware) since before the update when this was fine and worked well. Sometimes entering Live TV causes GBPVR to freeze and needs to be terminated. Sometimes it takes about 2 minutes before anything appears. And when it does appear, it's completely jerky and unwatchable, and the sound cuts out after a few seconds.

Problem 2: GBPVR recordings (in the background) seem to be broken. I set 2 things to record today. The first recorded fine. The second record about a 1/3, then it just cut out.

I'd apreciate any help on this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. I've tried going back to the defaut skin just in case that would make a difference. I've trired removing and readding the capture card. WinTV works fine which would tend to suggest it's not a problem with the PVR. Also, GBPVR works fine in any other section (Videos, music etc.)

My setup is the following (just in case it helps):

Windows XP Professional
1GB RAM
WinTV PVR-USB2
USB-UIRT as a channel changer
100gb free hard drive space
2.8ghz processor
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks a lot Smile

Try disabling live preview mode, so that it uses timeshift mode. Is it still bad? If so, check the MPEG live tv file that it was recording. Try playing the file in another application.

If its also bad in the other application, then you're likely having problems with the actual recording part of the process, possibly USB problems.

If it plays ok in another application, then your having playback problems in GB-PVR. Changing MPEG2 decoder will probably correct this. May also need to try specifying the audio decoder and render as well.

Thanks for the reply Smile

I tried disabling live preview mode and all is well - it's odd though because before the update it seemed to work fine with live preview on?

As for changing codec, sadly I only seem to have once choice (The intervideo one). Is it worth trying to find another one instead?

Thanks again Smile

I dont know. It might help.

When you have Live Preview mode on, you could try changing the deinterlacing setting. It may also help.
