GBPVR doesnt work with my onboard video?

Hello,

I recently got this motherboard from newegg.com:

It has onboard video:

Onboard Video Chipset Intel GMA 3100

I tried VMR9 and it did not work, got an error. I switched to Overlay Manager and the window comes up, but nothing in it. Is there anything I can do to use GBPVR with this motehrboard?

Did you install the video drivers? If so, reproduce the problem and then zip and post your pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log

You're getting a "VMR9 not supported error". Try increasing the amout of your video RAM in bios (>16MB) and make sure DirectX 9 is installed (you didn't mention the OS).

i have a couple of those mb and they work fine...not the fastest but it does hd..
i had to try several different drivers before it would work well tho i never had any dx9 problems...sounds like something's missing on your windows..
also try the mb supplied drivers first..then the latest from intel if those don't work...

The VGA ram in the BIOS only allows me to choose between 1MB and 8MB. So I guess I cant do the >16MB.

I used the mb supplied drivers... but then I downloaded the very latest from Intel.. it didnt help.

My directX version is 9.0c, and my OS is XP.

when I try to use VMR9 I get the error:

"Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render"

when I try to use Overlay Manager I get a window but nothing ever shows up inside of it.

Can anyone suggest anything else besides buying a new video card for this system?

Try changing your "DVMT Mode Select" option to "Fixed Mode". It is right below the VGA Share Memory setting.

VGA Share Memory (Enabled, 8MB)
This item lets you allocate a portion of the main memory for the onboard VGA
display application.

DVMT Mode Select (DVMT Mode)
This item allows you to select the DVMT operating mode.

DVMT/FIXED Memory (256MB)
When set to Fixed Mode, the graphics driver will reserve a fixed portion of the
system memory as graphics memory, according to system and graphics requirements.

I changed it to Fixed Mode, but still no luck with either option. Same error on VRM9 and nothing in the box with Overlay Manager. Is it time to buy a video card?
