I have just bought an Emuzed Angel II dual tuner card off e-bay and set up my 1st gb-pvr. I really like the program but have an issue that I have not been able to tackle on my own. After about 5 minutes the video signal is lost. Dont matter if I am recording or watching live tv the sound continues but the video signal is lost. I dont know if I have something set up wrong or if I have just been sold a bad card. I can kill and restart and the picture shows back up immediately so I am hoping it is not the card. I have tried to scan the forum for every combo of terms I could think of and could not find a post that addressed this issue. Any ideas?

Probably would pay to run GBPVR until the problem occurs, close GBPVR, zip your logs and post here. Will give us something to examine anyhow!

also does this issue occur using alternative media players? (if you have any to try)

I have tried to view the .mpg file with another viewer and it goes blank at the same time. I saw an error in the log but it did not give me enough info to process. I deleted all my logs and reopened and let it play till it failed again to minimize the size of the logs anyone would need to look thru. I appreciate your quick response.

I cant see anything obvious, but maybe try other decoders to see if they help.

If recordings or live viewing is failing regardless of what application you are using to access your card, I would suggest trying alternative drivers for your capture card.

Not very helpful I know Wink

Well I dont really have another application that accesses the card, earlier I was saying I had opened the resulting .mpg file with another program. What other program besides gb pvr could I d/l just to try and use the card. I tried MediaPortal but it fails install trying to register some audio.dll. Is there a really simple, no frills, just watch live tv sort of program I can d/l to quickly test the card?

To sub's earlier question I could not find the spot to change decoders, but I am still looking.

you can change decoders in GBPVR config program, under the playback tab. As for alternative programs to access your capture card, I have not personally tried it but VLC media player apparently does allow you to connect directly to capture devices, you could give this a try ?

Well if this dont beat all -- It is not an Angel II but the older angel tuner I now have the correct drivers and GB PVR does not recognize it at all -- looks like I am twice screwed -- once by the seller then by bad fortune.

run filtercheck.exe from the gb-pvr directory and post the resulting log file. we can build a bda.ini entry to match

edit: ok, i guess I mean direct.ini entry since this is an analog card? same difference, run filtercheck.exe

It recognizes the card in this log but if I try to add a source and check only show detected devices it says no know cards detected
I appreciate your help :-) this thing sure has a lot of moving parts
