Problably relevant to Jaggy, but Martin will know as well. Will the EGreat work with our freeview|HD files? A new distributor has opened up here (http://www.aiwa.co.nz) and so may look at one of these to replace the A100 in the bedroom, as I'm getting sick of waiting for Syabas to add HE-AAC-LC audio support.

And I assume that I can run the gbpvr interface as I currently do with the A100?

I'm fairly sure the EGreat is pretty much the same as the PCH A100 in this respect, and unable to play the HE-AAC audio.

Yesterday a courier delivered a sample Hauppauge MVP-HD device. This does play our HE-AAC audio.

Obviously no GB-PVR client at this stage though.

hmm, I'm on the lookout for something (probably in the NMT range) that will take the GB interface (can't get by without it), but support our audio as well. With 3 DVB-T tuners and only 1 DVB-S it's getting hard to schedule stuff. I'm just really lucky that tv3 has the AC3.

Was hoping the Egreat would do it.. The C200 I think it a bit too "loungeish" whereas the Popcorn etc are nice and small, good for the bedroom.

Do we know a price point for the MVP-HD?

The C-200 won't support mvpmcx2 either, and probably never will but it does support HE-AAC The EGreat M34a is very similar to the A110 hardware much better than the A100, and it suffers the same limitation of the microcode not having HE-AAC hardware support. All NMT's are fully capable of supporting it as shown on several other units with the same chip but I guess NZ, Brazil and Norway aren't big enough markets to even get a response these days.

That being said mvpmcx2 would need to be rebuilt for the new firmware and I don't even have the required toolkits.

Well thats a pisser. I was intending to get the C200 and using it for a lounge solution if I put my gbpvr server in a cupboard.....just as well I asked.

So maybe I'll need to see where the HD MVP goes....

I agree, I would love to support the C-200 it would make a perfect addition to my media centre with GBPVR support.

A quick look at their site today & all the prices seem to have gone now & all it says under price is "contact us" for everything I looked at.

I have been asked to get 3 NMT's for my brother so I was rather interested in that price but I wasn't born yesterday & I like to check out a business before I put my money down (so to speak) & I am a bit concerned with their contact details "Aiwa NZ Ltd, PO Box 303134, North Harbour, North Shore City 0751, Phone: +64 21 921193" as there is no physical address listed & isn't that phone number a mobile phone?
