I am having a few issues with using Two Hauppauge Tuner cards HRV-4000 & HRV-1300 togeather.
I originally had problems getting them to work togeather when first installed with GBPVR but I found a solution Here.
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=20998&page=4
I edited the regerstry files and they have been woring fine togeather apart from my issues below.
HVR 4000 to watch DVBT and DVBS
HVR 1300 to watch DVBT and Analog
I have been having trouble recieving C4 on DVBT(signal strength or somthing) so i now use DVBS fine.
Heres the problem When I record a DVBT station GBPVR uses the HVR4000 no mater witch device number I assigne to it, then when I try to record a somthing on DVBS it needs to use The HVR4000 but it is busy recording DVBT.
I need to get the first recording device for DVBT to be the HVR1300.
Issue 2 when I get HVR1300 to be the first recording device, if i start to record DVBT and then i want to record Analog the HVR1300 will be busy?
Also When i am recording ether DVBT or DVBS using HVR4000 and try to record a second DVBT or DVBS it lets me and indicated that it is recording it on the EPG but can't record as the HVR4000 is busy.
when recording DVBT and start a second DVBT recording it uses the HVR1300 as you would expect.
Can anybody help me please.

Sounds like you may need one more tuner card in the one instance for multiple analog if you prioritize the 1300 as the first recording device. Both devices should be set to device 1. See this post, this is how I have mine arranged with a STB. Maybe you can get some ideas off of this. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=42122

For DVB multiple recordings on the same bandwidth (ie 107.1 through 107.9), you need to use TS Mux in the BDA Multiplexer in the config.

Yeah I plan to get one once I have this issue worked out.

I have tryed numirous configerations of device numbers and order in the Config list and none of it seems to be doing what it should be doing? I wounder if it has somthing to do with the fact i had to switch the ParentIdPrefix labels to get them to work together?
some configerations I have tried and the results:

Config:
Device 1 Recording HVR-1300-DVBT
Device 2 Recording HVR-4000-DVBT
Decice 2 HVR-4000-DVBS
Device 1 HVR-1300-Analog
Device 2 Live HVR-4000-DVBT
Device 1 Live HVR-1300-DVBT

Result: Start recording DVBT ,GBPVR starts recording with Recording HVR-4000-DVBT?
Then start recording DVBS, GBPVR inicates that it starts recording using HVR-4000-DVBS and continues to record DVBT but when you try to play ether recording they fail to play.
I woudl expect GBPVR to us the HVR-1300 or to bring up a conflict of recording?

Config:
Device 1 HVR-1300-DVBT
Device 1 HVR-1300-Analog
Device 2 HVR-4000-DVBT
Decice 2 HVR-4000-DVBS

Result: Start recording DVBT ,GBPVR starts recording with HVR-4000-DVBT?
Then start recording DVBS, GBPVR inicates that is starts recording using HVR-4000-DVBS and continues to record DVBT but when you try to play ether recording they fail to play.

Config:
Device 1 HVR-4000-DVBT
Decice 1 HVR-4000-DVBS
Device 2 HVR-1300-DVBT
Device 2 HVR-1300-Analog

Result: Start recording DVBT ,GBPVR starts recording with HVR-1300-DVBT (first time) then HVR-4000-DVBT after that?
Then start recording DVBS, GBPVR inicates that is starts recording using HVR-4000-DVBS (recording works first time) the after that same as above.

Im thinking it has somthing to do with the fact i had to switch the ParentIdPrefix labels to get them to work togeather?

I have trued so many diffrent config's and they all seem to react diffrent every time please help!Smile
All i want to do a ths stage i get my HVR-1300 to be the first device that GBPVR uses to record DVBT consistantly.

Try setting both cards as "device 1" in all your capture sources in config. I believe the only time you use "device 2" is when you have more than one of the same type of card installed in your computer, which according to your signature, you do not. Then try to see if your results change.

Next, if I am following your config's correctly, I am wondering if your channel mapping is OK and enabled for each capture source, so if one card is in use, it will step down to the next card during recording, or step up while Live until it finds an available source.

Is Live TV acting the same way?

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to obtain the config you want, such as...

Device 1 Recording HVR-1300-DVBT
Device 1 Recording HVR-4000-DVBT
Decice 1 Record or Live HVR-4000-DVBS
Device 1 Live or Record HVR-1300-Analog
Device 1 Live HVR-4000-DVBT
Device 1 Live HVR-1300-DVBT

Give that a whirl. If you still cant get it working, flush your logs, and simulate a config the way you want it and zip and post your logs showing the failures. I am sure someone will look at them and give you an idea what to try.

Good luck!

Thank you again for your help snooze.
I tried setting both cards as "device 1" but then the HVR-4000-DVBS wouldn't record or play live TV.

I now no longer need a third tuner because a few days a go Prime TV became available on Freeview here in New Zealand (finally!) so I no longer need to record analog.

I don't watch live TV that often so i am concentrating on recordings.

It seems that the unexpected reactions for different TV card config's have been resolved by restarting the PC after changing device numbers.

I am now have HVR-1300-DVBT consistently used first for recording DVBT.sweet.

Unfortunately i still have the problem that if i start two channels recording DVBT channels and then try to start recording a DVBS channel it indicates that it is recording but won't play the recording. I would expect it to bring up a conflict (no tuner available) of recordings.
also if three recordings are set for the same time it doesn't show any recording conflicts?

My card config:

Device 1 HVR-1300-DVBT
Device 2 HVR-4000-DVBT
Device 2 HVR-4000-DVBS
Device 1 HVR-1300-Analog

logs attached

thank you again for the help.

Unfortunately these are about the worst two cards to try using together. They very closely related, but have a couple of quirky problems to do with the common naming of the DVB-T part of the device, and the pin mediums used on the filters.

You could maybe try capture sources like this:

Device 1 HVR-4000 DVB-S
Device 1 HVR-1300 DVB-T
Device 2 HVR-4000 DVB-T.

I know this seems wierd, but it might be what you need to do.

Thank you for your help Sub.

Just my luck!Sad

Seems no matter how much research I do before buying Hardware I still get it wrong.

Oh well.

I tried my capture sources as you suggested to no avail.
But thank you anyway.

I may just have to live with it till I can afford a different card.
