I second this. The wife gets a blank stare on her face when I call it a PVR so I just stick with TiVo. Maybe we should think up some clever names for GB-PVR? After all, GB-PVR doesn't exactly roll off the tongue...

I'm still trying to figure out what "GB" stands for. Great Big, maybe? :p

"GiBo" I love it. Pronounced JeeBoh.
From now on, that's it's name. My wife might even remember that one Smile
Better than calling it the PVR, the box, that @#$^$& computer, etc...

Mine is called Donatello, (from The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). I guess I think of the "D" for "DVD Station" (since I mostly use GB-PVR to record shows, and I then author DVDs from the recordings). Actually, all of my computers (8 of them) are named after characters from TMNT. I even run a domain (using MS Active Directory), and the name of the domain is "TheSewer". The Domain Controller is of course Splinter.

The "Magic Box".

It wasn't long after I'd set up a permanent GB-PVR and MVP setup that I was tinkering with some settings in Config.exe - I didn't realise that my wife was watching a recording on the MVP/TV downstairs. I clicked OK and the recording service restarted and the voice from downstairs shouted "Did you just do something to the magic box"? The name has stuck ever since.

Mines nicknamed "Steve-o" as in Steve (my name) and Tivo, after trying to liken GBPVR with Tivo to try to explain what the PC was to a friend of mine who lives in the States.
