Would have thought this has come up, but I searched to no avail.

Are there any modifications or plugins that can put, say, 11 lines of channels in the TV Guide? Or maybe eight. How about eight?

And while I'm asking that, how the heck do you scroll sideways in the TV guide just using the mouse? I swear I've never seen that answered anywhere.

And how about Escaping/Go Back from the TV Guide using a limited remote control? Sub has said he tried to make everything work with just four arrows and an Enter button, but can you get out of the TV Guide that way? It seems Escape is quite impossible, Mr. Bond.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

8 rows is available by default in Community Skin 4. I've done some work on a method to allow selecting of a more-or-less arbritrary number of TV Guide lines in CS4, but I don't know whether that's been included in the current release (I've been too busy to install it, and am waiting on GB-PVR 1.4 to do some other changes to the TV Guide). I personally run with 9 lines, and have tested with up to 11.

With the default blue skin, you can do it yourself by editing the number of rows in these two lines in GBPVR\Skin2\blue\TV Guide\skin.xml:
Code:
<Placement name="Listings" loc="25,15" size="70,63" rows="[color=Red]7[/color]" brightenCurrentShowsPercent="16"/>
<Placement name="ChannelNames" loc="3,15" size="20.5,63" rows="[color=Red]7[/color]"/>
The same goes for CS4, and probably pretty much any other skin. (EDIT: of course you may have to tweak the font sizes too as you add rows. In CS4, this can be done from the Skin Plugin as well).

As far as I can tell that isn't possible, though perhaps it might respond if your mouse has one of those tilt-wheels for sideways scrolling. Sub?

Yes, you need at least one more button to get back out. Escape, Browser-Back and Right-Mouse all serve the purpose.

Finally getting around to doing a little GBPVR fine-tuning and switched to 11 rows with size 10 text. Thanks much! It may seem like a "ho-hum" thing to some, but since I get 11 channels OTA, it's quite nice to see everything with no scrolling.

This should be in the Wishlist forum, and I guess I'll cut and paste it, but since we're here and I already mentioned it... I think adding Back/Forward buttons in the TV Guide would be a pretty big deal for mouse users. I don't know about anyone else, but, while I do have an MS-knockoff remote that works with GBPVR (with liberal uses of HIP), I usually just use a mouse.

I noticed the rather big input differences when playing with a different PVR software recently. The developers seem to hate mice. You rarely can right-click to go back, very few skins have mouse controls during playback other than Pause, and I was Shocked(!) to see I couldn't click on the playback timeline to skip to any time I wanted.

Hmm, I suppose HIP could be used with a five-button mouse to maybe make the thumb buttons, or even the scroll wheel, go back and forward on the TV Guide screen. I'll have to test that out.

Anway, seems like the only main thing that's missing for mice is being able to scroll in the TV Guide.

Yes, HIP or EventGhost should have no problem doing that for you, though you may not need either one. Some mouse control panels may let you map the thumb buttons directly to the desired keypresses. You can refer to the .xml files in the gbpvr\keymappings directory for the needed keypresses. You can also use the keyfinder.exe program in that directory to see how GB-PVR may see the thumb buttons on your mouse (it will show you the .net keypress event name), and then add those keys to the appropriate keymappings files.

Try this:

Don't know if it still works, but I remember having these scroll arrows when I was using a trackball.

I don't see anything in Slick skin or in Configuration about that. I see TV Listings plugin mentions it, so I copied that into Slick's skin.xml...

<NamedValue name=“ShowNavigation” value=“false”/> :
Whether to show navigation arrows for mouse control or not. Possible values are true and false.

But I don't see any changes. Next up is to see if TV Listings will indeed do it. I'm on build .7 which doesn't work right with that plugin, so I guess it's time to upgrade to the new version.

If nothing else, I reckon I'll remap some keys.
