This is good news and bad news all at once. Smile It sounds like this is also going the way of Jukebox, down that road of GBpvr updates until one day it no longer works.

No other music lovers in the PVR world, it's been really handy having it all together.

psycik Wrote:If I've done this right, the latest ML2 version on the wiki (http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/MusicLibrary2) should be 7.2.

I've just uploaded it back and changed the version numbers etc. Let me know if after downloading it's still 8, and I'll do it again.

I just re-downloaded and it seems to be 7.2. A quick question if I might. In the other version the zip had directories that I could pretty much guess at to figure out where what file went to install it. This one is just one directory of files. I also don't see any blue skin file in there.

Should this download be sort of combined with the version 8 to get the rest of the needed files?

The 8 version used a few extra directories, like the common directory for the shared backend. 7.2 should be more self contained and should only need it's own plugin directory.

Make sure you extract with paths....
I extracted and it has a Plugins directory with the MusicLibrary2 files and a skin directory with the blue skin files.

I don't know if I would be too worried about ML2 disappearing/not working in the near future (not being enhanced is a totally different story), as long as psycik is using GB he will keep it working for his own use I am sure & if not I don't see ACTCMS being able to live without it & as he is already familiar with psycik's coding style from taking over development of MLPanel I am sure he would do his best to fix any problems.

That's correct...what may come out is an ML3 that is cut down. Basically the DB updating, queuing and the random play.

I think ML3 being a total re-write of ML2 complicated things to get all those features incorporated...that said, the ML3 that is out there currently is what I use for personal use.

"And that's another fine mess you've gotten me into Jaggy" Big Grin

However, as Jaggy says, I wouldn't like to be without ML2... Smile

It may be possible to get jukebox to work in the latest release. I'll see if I can get it working and let you know.

Oh you have no idea how incredible that would be. It's by far been the most trouble free, easiest to operate and very quick for someone with a very large library. I always thought it should have been part of the core instead of music library!

I think most of its problems happened when GBpvr changed the way things were skinned in version 1.0 and poor Jukebox got left behind. I was a very sad day for me knowing I had just done my last upgrade and would be left behind too. Sad

Anything you need that I can do, just shout it out!!
