No sound suddenly

Hi everyone,

All of a sudden I am not getting any sound from GBPVR. I can play anything in VLC and WMP and everything works fine, but no sound from recorded shows or live tv in GBPVR. I've looked through the logs and can't find anything that indicates why. If someone else can spot something I'm missing I would appreciate the help.

I've got XP SP3, and I don't see that reg entry. I have the decoder entries, the window size entries, and one or two others, but no lastvolume.

Any other ideas?

The most likely cause for missing sounds is the decoder you're using. If it suddenly went missing, then maybe you have the audio decoder set to 'system default'? That system default can be changed by other applications, so changes elsewhere in your system could have triggered this flow on effect in GB-PVR.

Try other audio decoders.

Still no go. I had it specified at NVidia for the audio decoder and AC3filter for AC3 decoder until it quit working. The default is the NVidia decoder which works fine when graphedit plays files with it.

Based on past experience, I still think it'll be related to your decoders. Maybe try some other decoder.

You were right. It was the decoder.

I saw your posts in the windows 7 no audio thread and tried that MPA decoder you mentioned. It works!!! I'm still puzzled by what happened... why would multiple audio codecs simultaneously quit working, and only for GBPVR? I'll never know. I'm just glad that it works again.

Thanks sub! The WAF would have taken a serious hit with me spending the next 5 days away with it not working. It did give me an excuse to upgrade to the latest version too.
