Unable to install 1.4.7

Sub -
fails installation right at the last stage by the looks.
Have turned on msi logging and will attach the file from that -
but it appears to be due to
Error 2769 .....

DEBUG: Error 2769: Custom Action WiseSetAssemblyFrameworkProperties did not close 27 MSIHANDLEs.

updated installer
repaired and reinstalled .net2
tried some other stuff - all with no success - but I have gotten some of the above errors to go away - but still doesnt complete - gets to 99% or more then has the error and rolls back.

anyway - zipped up log of install - hopefully something useful

Did you stop, or even delete the recording services?

i had indeed stopped the recording service and any others that I figured might be a problem -
but - it seems it was still in the services table although not running and causing problems -
have manually force deleted it and tried the install - which now seems to have processed all the way through -

at least I have a recording service now -

This sounhds like you have one or more old files (.dll or .exe) that pre-date 1.4.7.

That's good news. I think this is the first version I have ever had to delete the recording services. I was happy I remembered that trick.

I read this forum like I read the newspaper everyday. Actually I don't read the news as often as I read this forum. And no matter what, when I have a problem, I forget some helpful tips/tricks and need to ask for help.

deleted everything in the gbpvr directory - except bat, gbpvr.db3, and config.xml and reinstall -
all seems to be working now -
kids will get off my back
