Hi,

I'm considering upgrading my PC and perhaps buying / building a NetTop. It will therefore not have any PCI / PCI-express slots and I'll be limited to my USB Hauppauge tuners.

At the moment I have an old WinTV PCI-FM (not even GBPVR compatible) that I keep in the machine for purposes of its IR dongle only. Obviously this won't work in a modern NetTop.

Can anyone suggest an alternative, USB remote? If possible, I'd really like to keep the Hauppauge handset but I'm willing to change remote control receiver and software. If all else fails, whats the best remote to get?

Thanks Smile

Me use and very much likey the Gyration AirMouse MCE Remote: http://www.gyration.com/index.php/en/pro...ir-remotes

It is somewhat on the expensive side, but having such awesome mouse control is worth every penny.

haha...

i'd say get a mce dongle and use the remote you already have with it and HIP...
i'm using my mvp remote with an mce dongle and it works great..Smile
[you can use nearly any remote with HIP and MCE dongle]
plus you get universal blastability in the deal too..

Sounds like MCE Dongle and HIP are coming through as the preferred option! Thanks everyone for your help. Smile

Are these easy to configure for GBPVR? I'm considering getting one off ebay as my antec case didn't come with the actual remote (although has the inbuilt sensor) and my hauppague remote conflicts with my amp which is very annoying! From the ebay seller I understand you configure the imon software for an IMON Pad, not an MCE remote. Is it easy to then get to work with GBPVR?

If it's an Antec Fusion, save your money. The Antec IR receiver is crippled and will only work with a standard RC5 MCE remote or keyboard. Antec chose not to pay for the hardware that would work with all remotes.

mods, since I rolled the page over and you might miss it, scraaxode is a spammer.
