I have to switch PC resolutions based on resolution of videos to remove tearing and also when I want to check a website, such as now. It got old doing it the way I was and I had to squint to see what I was clicking on when trying to change from 1920x1080. This is all on the 42" LCD TV that is 13 feet away. I was going to ask if you guys knew of way to set up a hot key to change PC resolution on the fly, but I did one more search and I found Screen Mode Switch. It is free and awesome. I thought I might share it with you guys since some of you might be in or end up in a similar situation.

I use Display Changer from 12moon (a freebie) http://www.12noon.com/displaychanger.htm

you can create as many shortcuts as you like, with a command following if you like.
I use it to change res for my main machien when VNC'ing in from a lesser machine.

There is some damn good stuff floating out there if/when you can find it Smile

Quote:Display Changer changes your desktop width, height, color depth, and refresh rate (frequency) temporarily or permanently (via command line switches). Display Changer can run another application in a specific display resolution and return to the previous resolution when the application finishes. Command line switches let you alter only certain settings and choose the best refresh rate (or a specific one).
