I've only recently experimented with the PC client and I've had some uneven results.

- Both the server and client are running 1.4.7 and Windows 7 RC.

- Wired 100Base-T network on both server and client. Basic networking is OK.

- Using "File Sharing", I can browse the EPG on the server and playback recordings...both MPG and DVR-TS types...on the PC client. I cannot view "Live TV" or select to watch a live show through the TV Guide. System just sits there and I never see an indication anything is happening.

- Using "Streaming" I can browse the EPG, but cannot seem to watch a recording or Live TV.

- I thought there might be a firewall issue, so I've turned off the firewall on both machines, to test and see if that's a problem. Still have the same issues as above.

Any ideas on what I should look at to fix this?

Thanks!

If you copy a recording to the client machine can you watch it through the video library?

This would confirm it can playback recordings.

It could also be a sharing problem?

If it can I would think the next step would be to upload your logs after you have tried to watch something off the server

Another thing I remembered after posting that message....

For live TV I believe you have to have the same livetv directory on your client as you have on your server...if you have your livetv set to c:\temp on your server you also need a c:\temp on your client.....don't ask me how you do it if you have livetv as g:\livetv on your server but only have a c: drive in your client

Yes, I can watch recordings....either in GBPVR or through simple windows file sharing. So I think I've got the needed codecs and filters on the client machine. (Actually, all I had to do was install AC3filter to watch the .ts files).

But still having the problem watching live TV on the PC client.

Attached is a log file and I can see an error in there. No idea how to fix it!

OK, thanks for the tip.

I've got the C:\temp folder setup on both client and the server PC as the Live TV buffer.

Still no joy yet, but it's another thing I needed to fix (on the client it was C:\temp\live before I fixed it via Config).

Directories tab on Config on both server and client machines now match.
