I am wondering how some people deal with AnyDVD and GBPVR.

Sometimes, AnyDVD can take up to 3-4 minutes to decrypt a DVD, especially Disney DVDs.

My wife is not very patient and always selects DVD before AnyDVD has decrypted, so the DVD tray ejects.

How do some of you handle this? The WAF is low with this because she doesn't understand she needs to wait 5 minutes after she inserts a DVD before she ca try playing it.

Thanks for any pointers.

I use both. Disc takes 10 seconds on average. This includes Bluray, HDDVD and DVDs.
In-fact I use TMT2/3 via a plug-in so I don't even exit GBPVR.
Sounds like something strange in your system, I leave both programs running all the time.

Yeah, something's strange there. Even troublesome BDs take me less than 30 seconds. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling AnyDVD?

3~4 minutes? What processor do you have? An Atom?

Maybe even use CCleaner, maybe some reg crap left over. And do a fresh install?

Even during the 10 seconds or so it takes mine to sort itself out, the drive never ejects if I (or the wife!) selects DVD from the GBPVR menu, it just says "No DVD present" - you can just keep pressing DVD/OK until it's ready.

It's on a Core2Duo processor. Even on my desktop system, AnyDVD takes a while to decrypt, and it's a Core2Duo as well.

I just reinstalled the system less than a month ago, so I don't think that's it. I can try reinstalling AnyDVD.

I just thought maybe I had some setting set that no one else did that was the cause. Now, once I insert a DVD and it's cracked, it loads up the next time no problem because it stores the key. But on the initial crack, takes forever...

Just a thought, can you check if your DVD drive is operating in DMA or PIO mode? Because for a Core 2 Duo, 3~4 minutes just doesn't sound normal at all...
