One thing to be appear of is that the 'auto' aspect ratio mode only works if you have the video decoder set to something other than 'system default'.

I don't know yet Sub the original card doesnt seem to work now. I wonder whether it will sort itself out overnight when it does an EPG update.

Second thing I have the video decoder set to MPV decoder

I wonder if it has something to do with the "Y" splitter I am using. It looks like the antenna should go into the one at the bottom of the Y and the outputs should go int the other two but it doesn't work that way.
It's great that you've got it working now...

For passive Y splitters, I don't think it makes a lot of difference which way they are connected - I get around it by making up my own co-ax cables using male/female ends to match the splitters (it also means that I can keep my cables as short as possible). If you don't fancy that, you should be able to get around it using male/male or female/female cable connectors - you can find them in most supermarkets. It's also worth swapping over your cables at the card to see if the weak signal follows a particular cable - use ScanChannelsBDA to compare the signal on both tuners.

I found this in the recording logs ...

I expect some wise soul will be along to tell you if its relevant and why it's happening.

BTW, you also have this in a PVRX2 log ...

You might be asking for trouble with all those audio decoders. Some might suggest some housekeeping.

Neither those are something you need to worry about.

The "m_pD3DDev->Present() failed" message always appears in the logs when you close the application (related to trying to show a last screen update after direct3d has already been shutdown).

The 'Microsoft Network Provider' is used if it is available, otherwise the 'Microsoft DVB-T Network Provider' is used. The 'Microsoft Network Provider' is only available on Vista/Win7.

Yeah, that does look like an odd set of decoders. It might not be a problem though.

Can you do four recordings at the same time? Its probably easier to diagnose than three recording plus live tv.

OK, I have completely reinstalled from scratch.

I have scanned and mapped all 4 tuners. I can't get a complete MUX but nevermind it only changed last night and may be offline. (it's the one with BBC1)

I have recorded 4 channels at once, in fact 6 channels.

I then set it to record one programme and it started on tuner 4 so there where 3 tuners available but still wouldn't allow me to watch live tv. I don't think having both cards as device 1 is helping. Is there anyway I can get GBPVR to recognise it as device 2? Logs as always attached. Smile

I have everything working fine except one last problem.

I've rescanned using "All Regions" to get BBC 1 and 2 back and thats fine now. Question: Can I now return the tuner settings back my region and transmitter even though I scanned all regions and will the epg still update?

Now for the problem:

If i am recording TV on 3 of the 4 tuners and then turn live TV on it works until I change channels a couple of times and then PVRX2 freezes with blank screen. Apart from that everything is OK at the moment.

Logs attached (sorry)

The "All Regions" option does not affect the EPG. That should continue as before.

Digital TV in the UK is broadcast on about fifty muxes/channels/frequencies but each transmitter uses only about six frequencies out of the fifty. An all regions scan looks at all fifty ... a Winter Hill scan will look at only about six. The number of frequencies increases after switchover to about nine.

The only difference between an all regions scan and a Winter Hill scan is the time taken to scan all frequencies. The spreadsheet mentioned ...

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=44488

will give you a Winter Hill scan file that you can use after December 2nd.

You still have a gazillion decoders in your log files. I suggest that you uninstall ac3 filter and divx aac decoder and set your Video Decoder to Mainconcept and your Audio Decoder to Mainconcept (they are the decoders that I use cos they are installed by Hauppauge WinTV 7).

If you still have channel change problems, start three recordings and close PVRX2, restart PVRX2, go to Live TV, change channels till it hangs, close PVRx2 and post logs.

All the ini files and selected regions/transmitters does is to restrict the channels scanned during a scan. This can save a lot of time and prevent possibly picking up remote transmitters. So changing from all regions to your local transmitter will only have an effect when scanning for channels. The EPG and recording etc will be just the same.
