HI,
I'm sure this is straight forward but I can't find the answer.

DVB-T broadcasts in Auckland NZ, with HVR-2200 card on XP, Nvidea 8400GS card

I can watch Live TV, but I can't pause it.
I can record TV, but I can't watch what I have recorded.
I have another PC running GBPVR and on that PC I can watch what I recorded on the PC I am having problems with.
I have Cyberlink Power DVD 8 codecs installed, however when using this for TV playback it is not continuous (stops and starts and distorts), If I use the Main concept decoder then it plays smoothly.
What do I need to do to setup playback of the .ts files?

Do the recordings seem to occur correctly? ie, if you download VLC, can you play the recordings?

Your video card might be borderline for specs. The minimum video card that has been mentioned (mostly on geekzone.co.nz) is an 8500GT from Nvidia.

Also with the power DVD settings, I think you have to start up powerdvd, and set the configuration to use Hardware acceleration (if possible). Then this settings is carried over to third part apps when they use the codec.

Yes they are recording correctly. I can play them back on another PC.
Just won't play back on this PC or time shift.

Upload a short (1 minute or so) recording to somewhere like megaupload.com, and I'll download it and try it here.

Still can't play back any of these files.

VLC will play them but its skipping a few frames to keep up.
I tried putting my 8600GT video card in this PC and GBPVR still won't play any of these files.
My thoughts are that it must be one of the video codecs that must be wrong, however I've tried all the options I can think of and it still won't work.
My other PC plays these fine and uses the cyberLink codec yet this doesn't work on my media PC.
I'm still running an older version of GBPVR on the PC that works, but would have expected the latest version to be fine.

AFAIK the quality of that sample is suspect, and if everything you record has that many errors it won't be a good experience no matter what you use for playback.

I still can't figure out why I can't play recorded content in GBPVR.
I have a number of recordings (.ts files). I can play these back using PowerDVD and they use the hardware acceleration properly i.e. low processor usage and play smoothly.
I can play them back through Hauppage WinTV and they also play smoothly and use hardware acceleration. Win TV will also pause, record and play TV.
I cannot get GBPVR to play back any of these same recorded files. The processor just goes up to 90% then back to 50% and then GBPVR is unresponsive and crashes. I have tried all the different options available under for the H.264 Decoder = cyberlink, DivX, Arcsoft, and none work.
What else do I try to get GBPVR to play back these files?

This is a single PC with TV tuner card and all files on the local machine. No wireless or networking involved at all.
