I downloaded the recording and was able to play it back in GB-PVR without any problem. The recording was a bit broken at the beginning, but it did play and gave me audio and video.

What H.264 and HE-AAC decoders do you have selected in the Config app? In that log you've got them set to 'system default' and Windows isnt managing to find some available default decoders on your machine.

I'd try with the ArcSoft H.264 decoder, and the Monogram AAC Decoder.

I have mainly been using the cyberlink H.264 decoder.
I just tried using the arcsoft decoder again, but not success. Also in the settings is has the option to use DXVA2.0 and DXVA1.0, however you select either / both these settings, click apply etc. If you go back in to check them they are always unselected, so it is not accepting these settings / not keeping them.
Log files are attached.

Is your Y:\ drive a local drive attached to your PC, or some network drive?

Are you trying to play a recording that is still in-progress, or was this file recorded earlier?

The reason I recommended the ArcSoft decoder is because there are versions of the Cyberlink decoders that are not usable in 3rd party apps like GB-PVR. I have no way to know if the version you've got is only usable in Cyberlink's own PowerDVD app, so was trying to rule out one more possible cause of your problems.

OK, so I got beyond frustrated with not being able to play any recorded files, and after spending all day on it, I finally uninstalled GBPVR and installed version 1.3.11 which is working on my other PC... and now it plays recordings fine and will pause tv etc.
so I just can't upgrade.
Any reason why this no-longer works for me in newer versions ?

Nothing springs to mind, but if you were still on 1.4.7 there are some things I can get you to try.
