The QAM scan on Windows 7 with GBPVR 1.4.7 is not finding any channels for either my HVR 1600 or HVR 1800.

I tried increasing the wait time to as follows:

<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>5</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>25</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

Increasing these values did not change the scan behavior other than it took a lot longer.

I know the both cards are working, since the current preexisting mappings are working for the most part when recording or watching live tv. I have had one channel occasionally record the wrong program, so I wanted to rescan to see if I had the tuning information wrong.

I have attached my logs. They should only show my scan for the 1600. I did not reattempt the 1800 today.

I also setup QAM channels on Windows Media Center a few days back. Its scan appeared to work fine.

Many have not had problems but I have but only with my 1600. Odd that it works fine in XP and worked in Vista but not well at all in W7. For me, I was able to copy over my channels from my HDHR using the Wiz tool. It works fine for me in Media Center as well. I'm no help unless you have another tuner that can grab the channels and migrate them over as I did.

Is there anyway to extract the QAM channel information that Windows Media Center discovered?

If there is, I don't know about it. I've looked a few months back and couldn't find anything.
You can ask on The Green Button but I'd think if it were easy or possible, it would have been discussed here.

Code:

2009-11-12 15:58:50.154    VERBOSE    Starting graph...

You may need to stop the Media Center services. They seem to be holding onto the device.

I restarted my computer and made sure both the windows media center services were stopped. They had not been started automatically. I also noticed I had an hauppauge TV service running, I stopped that too. I even stopped the GBPVR recording service.
I still get the that error in my config.native.log and the scan still fails to find any channels.

My local cable company just moved the QAM frequency of my NBC station, so the inability to scan is an a real issue for me now.

WinTV 7 scan seems to work fine. Is there any way I can use the the channel information from the wintv 7 MSAccess DB to create a scan cache file? I can open the wintv db with access and see all the tables.

I know from looking on the AVS forum for my region that Time Warner moved the NBC station from 102.2 to 75.2. Is this enough information to configure the QAM channel manually? I really just need to fix this one channel for now.

The QAM frequency I had been using looked something like:
T:102,0,0~P:2~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>17.1 WNCN HD* (000(AC3))

I assume the T:102 was the frequency and the P:2 is some sub channel. What is the rest of the information? Can I manually extract a similar string from the wintv database? Can I just change the 102 to 75?

Can you zip and post your WinTV database?

The access database files should be attached. Thanks for any help.

I recently added a hauppauge 2250 to my system. I cannot do the QAM scan with it either, but the tuners work fine if I manually add the QAM tuning string. I fixed my NBC channel by getting the new QAM physical channel from a TV with a QAM tuner.

Is there anyway to get more diagnostics on the cause of the "Failed to start BDA Graph"?
