Hello - I am unable to properly tune all the available channels (they work fine with the bundled software) with GBPVR - I am not sure if I am selecting the right video capture card from the capture setup section.

My card is - Pinnacle PCTV 800i PCI. OS - XP.

But amongst the many Pinnacles, the nearest is an 800e driver (which I have tried).

Any suggestions?

Run filtercheck.exe from the GBPVR folder and post the filtercheck.log file that is created. Someone will be along soon after to say what the log file shows.

If its finding *ANY* channels, then it already has the correct card settings. If some channels are missing, then its most likely not scanning the right frequencies.

Thanks... filter file attachment is below.

And to sub's point: I was wondering about that. I wrote down the frequencies for a couple of channels that I wanted (which the Pinnacle TV software found) ... but I really wasn't sure where I entered this in GBPVR to add these missing channels.

Try editing config.xml (use notepad not wordpad) and changing the following two lines:

Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>[color=red][B]5[/B][/color]</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>[color=Red][B]25[/B][/color]</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

If that doesn't work, PM me or post your zip code and (if you are using cable) your cable provider.

hey whurlston - did as you suggested and rescanned!

I got the extra channel that I'd been missing (KXANDT) but I am still getting 0KB file sizes reported when recording for KXANDT (and for a few others),

I can do perfect recordings (i.e. greater than 0KB) using the Pinnacle bundled TVCenter, but I would prefer to avoid using their TV app....

So could it just not be properly tuned? My zip is 78733

thanks!!!

You don't have your scan but there is specific info on the station here. Could you post your logs when you try and record this channel to compare the TS info.

hey mvallevand - thanks for the rabbitears info!

Sorry to be clueless, not sure what to do with it Big Grin tried to add a channel I was missing (I meant earlier to say I was lacking KTBC - not KXAN) and I manually (?) entered it. Anyway *this* is how I tried to enter KTBC (the local fox channel):

I went to the list of channels. Clicked inside 34 KTBCDT and ticked Enabled, then entered T:7,0,0~P:1~TSID:2753~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>7.1 KTBCDT. I did this because I couldn't see a way to use Manual Scan (was I supposed to try that? :o )

I've no clue what any of this means, but all the V: A and PMT stuff was the same for all my other channels. So I copied it. TSID 2753 I got from rabbitears website and also the T:7 and the N:>7.1

Anyway, when I tried to record, it gave 0KB file length. Just like most of my other channels which I can see using the Pinnacle app.

I've posted my logs - THANK YOU FOR YOUR GUIDANCE !!!

Could you watch Live TV on that channel? I'm guessing not. According to the values from RabbitEars.info, it should be:

Code:
T:7,0,0~P:1~TSID:2753~[B][color=Red]V:17[/color][/B]~[B][color=red]A:20[/color][/B]~PMT:48~[B][color=red]PCR:17[/color][/B]~N:>7.1 KTBCDT

There's no info for the PMT PID but it shouldn't matter.
