I had the same problem with PVRX2 crashing as soon as I selected Get Iplayer+. I redownloaded commonGVPRutils (both the self-installer and the zip file), just in case it was that (which it wasn't).
I finally got it to work (after fiddling 'till 4:30am!) when I rebooted, so give that a whirl if you are having this problem. It now works a charm (except that the d/l-ed video is jumpy, but that is just a config issue my end I think). GREAT WORK SMILER!
By the way, I am planning on using the Hauppauge MediaMVP with GBPVR... will I get the GetIplayer+ interface on that unit???
Many thanks for a great app... very handy for archiving (for 30 days anyway Wink) BBC progs. Getting ITV, C4 & five (especially C4) to work with this would be the nuts!! Thanks for a great little app.

After playing with my working iplayer plugin, how come when I search for things, the search results seem to be waay off... eg. I was searching for "weather" to download a small programme to test transcoding as I have a 40GB download limit with talktalk (boo!), and no search results showed up... yet on the bbc iplayer website, the weather is obviously available, and also shows up when I search for weather. Is this to be expected with the search? Thanks, Aidan
PS I know this isn't your area, but any ideas why the CS4 skin hangs on install (when it executes a program at the end of install and a CS4 splash screen shows up)? Don't worry if you don't immediately know, I haven't searched for an answer yet, but was wondering if anybody knew off the top of their head.

Sorry to pester, got getiplayer downloading fine, and if I check the temp dir, the downloaded .flv is fine, but it is having issues when transcoding... the resulting file is there, but keeps dropping frames and sound every 2-3 secs. How can I either:
1) Play the flv in GBPVR (it doesn't play atm if I manually access it)
2) Get the encoder working properly

FYI config.xml:
Code:
<BBCiPlayerPlugin>

P.S. Getting one of these [Image: TVL32202.jpg]badboys tomorrow (it's got space round the back for a Mini-ATX board!), perfect for a GBPVR setup. Get it at bigpockets.co.uk if interested - only £250 WITH DVD, 2 TV Tuners (no MPEG encoders on though, but who'll use analogue now in the UK?), MCE remote and PSU!!!! (They originally cost £1000 when they were brought out!) - add in a £100 barebones system (and maybe a Radeon 4350) and you have a nuts system Smile

I have successfully installed the iplayer plugin, it downloads and transcodes perfectly, but my completed files do not then appear in recordings. Any suggestions?

thanks Simon.

I've had the problem since installing iPlayer plugin that I always get the message bandwidth throttle back from your ISP (or a BBC Website Fault!).
I've looked back through this topic and seen some people have the same error message as I, but none of the issues raised to fix those problems seem applicable to my install. Looking through my iPlayerServiceMessenger.log file I seem to be getting programmes downloaded but always the download fails ? Can anyone point me in the right direction as I'm losing what remains of my hair with this problem !

Hi

I have installed Get_iplayer but on accessing it I get an error message suggesting firewall problems.

Log attached. Any help would be much appreciated.

check the log files in the logs folder when this happens. I would hazzard a guess that either the plugin couldn;t update the database because it was locked by another plugin, it can't find the database file or it is crashing at the last moment.

If you are on vista/windows7, check that windows protection hasn't created a new copy of the gbpvr.db3 in it's virtual store.

And this error is what?
Have you tried diabling firewall to see if that makes any difference?

from iplayer log file:-

Code:
22/11/2009 18:12:03.776 Arg Length = 1
22/11/2009 18:12:03.778 Argument Found:

sounds like the install failed.
[edit]. with my logging level set to debug in tab1 of config.exe, I have the following log files in the log folder:
iplayerservice.log
iplayerservicemessanger.log
iSmessenger.log

I would suggest that you try to use FFMPEG and also try to change the quality settings to see if it makes any difference.

To be honest I don't really use the non transcode mode much, however I am not sure why you are not getting the recordings showing up. It is possible that the FLV file is not getting copied correctly to the destination directory. I will need all the logs to debug further Sad.
