No sound or video PVR-150

Suspect really need to get back to start here, if PVR150 not working properly in WinTV (written by someone we know!) then that may be place to begin? I.e. if doesn't work in WinTV most likely will not with GBPVR.



Others out there know more about this stuff but I wouldn't have thought a problem.

Have you got a driver install issue perhaps?

Does WinTV provide any logging for problems? I had a hard time finding any.

If I started fresh, which OS would you use? XP w/sp3?

Short answer I wouldn't. Many users on this Forum using Vista and GBPVR are very happy. There is no reason why you shouldn't get this working (having said that I'm still an XP user, it just works!). Just take time sorting and it will sort!

I have a feeling that your prob lies with how the signal gets to the PVR150 but could be wrong, obviously! If you get this working in WinTV you will get it working in GBPVR.

I have the signal coming in from the street - split with amplifier for the cable modem, one for the tv and another coming to the pc. It is connected to the PVR150 with a coax f-connector (screw type) - no STB is involved.

It is very active but that's because the software is very well written (and works) and heavily supported, oh and yes therefore it just attracts nice people. (apart from me!).

Never had DVB-C myself but I think principle the same. Have you deffo checked that input to TV carries signal to PVR150? i.e. cable that works on TV unplugged and into PVR150?

Ok - I will try that! I don't think anything is too silly at this point. I'll have to get the TV from the bedroom - which won't happen 'til tomorrow.

Give it a go when you get the chance.

Always work from bottom up (as it were).

Check signal to PVR150. Confirm working. Through WinTV prob best. If same cable that works on TV doesn't on PVR150 then prob driver problem. Check drivers. Get working with WinTV. Then fire up GBPVR config. Configure PVR150 with GBPVR.

Result. NICE! Let us know how you get on?

Sorry don't know, never needed them.

I've also never used the tuner side of my PVR150 so have no knowledge how to advise further.

But just to check you have DVB-C source coming into cable modem, then splitter, 1 x cable to TV 1 x to PC?

And what you need to do is tune PVR150 to get channels?

I'm sure someone far more knowledgable will take over!
