Can GB-PVR start/stop recording via command line?

First off, I have to say that I am VERY impressed with GB-PVR. It'll eventually replace Windows Media Center in my house, especially if I can get an answer to this post. What I'm looking for, is the ability to send commands to GB-PVR to start/stop recording a specific channel at varying times during the day or night. This is because, I have X10 ActiveHome Pro running which performs my home automation functions as well as security functions. I have X10 wireless cameras which feed a receiver connected to my WinTV 150 card. The goal is to have a macro which executes a batch file to start and stop recording when a motion sensor is triggered. It works with WinTV 2k, but it takes so long for the application to launch that whatever triggered the event has gone out of the view of the camera. I see that GBRecord offered a function like this, but it's no longer supported (or even downloadable). Does this function exist in GB-PVR? If so, what would the command syntax be to start or stop recording Channel 1? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Also, I see that a Homeseer plugin exists to control X10 devices. Any interest out there to support the AHP application?

Even though it's old, I would expect GBRecord to work with a PVR150 (Win 7 may be a problem, though). Should be around on the net; if not PM me, I think I have it. You also might look at WinTVcap and WinTVCap_GUI. They may work for you as well.

Thanks Mike. If GB-PVR can't support it natively, I'll give you a shout to get that off of you. I am running Windows 7, so that may give me some additional problems. Hopefully, someone knows the secret command to make this work. It seems to me that the functionality has got to be in there somewhere. It's just a command line version of clicking a record button (I have to keep it simple like that, but I realize there's A LOT more to it than that). ;-)

Sorry, there isnt a command line equivalent of this functionality. Its all in the GUI with buttons etc instead.

That's too bad. I'll see if the gbrecord method will work (assuming I can find it). It would be nice if you could implement a feature such as this, as there are ALOT of folks out there running home automation systems that could benefit from it. All we need is the hook to control the function. I can see folks integrating it into their light schema's where it would automatically set the light levels, close curtains, turn on the TV, select the movie, start playback, etc.. When the doorbell rings, it automatically pauses the movie, changes over to the security cam, starts recording... Anyways, thanks again.

It looks like WinTVcap will do what you want and is very capable - multiple boards, file numbering, programmable delays and record times, proc amp settings, etc. Also, supposed to work on XP, so should work on Win7 32 bit at least. Uses the Hauppauge drivers. Google to find the Sourceforge page-looks like pretty good documentation. Downloads appear to still be available. I think I would try that before GBRecord since it seems to be more recently updated. (No offense Sub.)
