Can you reproduce this problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files?

I feel like I'm a monster idiot. I can't seem to find a concise set of directions on how to set up GB-PVR with the HDHomeRun box. I've installed the latest software package/firmware from the SiliconDust website, but I can't seem to get GBPVR to work.

I installed the software, scanned and found channels which can be previewed on VLC, and set up the EPG (or so I thought...at least the XML file has what appears to be the right info). But when I select "Live TV" or "TV Guide" the menu does nothing.

Is there a "for dummies" somewhere? I've never struggled like this with a hardware/ software combo before.

update: I am unable to map the channels following the ATSC/QAM Config Guide. I got the following error when I began the scan to map.

When I select "Map digital channels to EPG" I get an error saying that it is not configured properly or already in use. When I try it again, I get the following error before crashing.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I am getting the same problem now, I seem to be going backwards with getting this set up. I get no known cards selected in this machine when trying to select a card.

FilterCheck sees it just fine though????

Got Start->All Programs->HDHomeRun->HDHomeRun Setup
Select GBPVR as the default application and click Apply.
If it is already set as default, just click OK.

This will add your entries to the bda.ini again.

I'm beating my brains out. Got the right serial, the right tuner number. was hoping to get to the end of the thread and find the solution, but no such luck.

looking forward to making this work already!

Two rounds of setup info for you.

while looking at my logs, I found at least one of my mistakes.

I was selecting the "HD Homerun Tuner"s from the list, but the device that was setup during the config was "SiliconDust HD Tuner #1" and #2.

now to keep messing around and see if I can get it all to work, then back to a clean install.

You are attempting to use the HDHomeRun that is in sub's house. At the bottom of your bda.ini are the following entries:

Code:
[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=Red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-0]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=1
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-0
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-1]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=1
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-1
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

Change the red highlighted portion to match the device ID of your HDHomeRun.

Hi whurlston, I see you're still giving good advice. My HD Homerun unit still works well from the day it was installed, thanks to your posts here. Besides occasional crashes that are probably due to my codec/videodrivers (PVR crashes not the recording service) GBPVR has worked well with HDHR.

Just wanted to give you and Sub a pat on the back and say thanks!!
