Is it possible to run GBPVR similar to a MythTV back-end?

I have Windows Home Server that does not have video card. I'd like to use it to run GBPVR to record shows from an HDHomeRun tuner to a folder and than watch them later with a WDTV player. The problem is that I cannot start PVRX2 with any of the available Video Renderers.

Appreciate your help.

I'm not familr with MythTV or what it's backend offers but...

PVRX2 is only the GUI, the recording service (gbpvrrecordingservice.exe) is what manages the recordings. The config app is used to setup GB-PVR, the web interface could be used to schedule recordings. Here's some links to start you off:

You can also use a networked PC or PopcornHour to schedule recordings and the like. The PC runs PVRX2 and PCH mvpmcx2 for remote clients.

Both suggestions sound very usable. I like the web interface idea because it can be ran from any computer and reminds me of MythTV web interface. On the other hand the client-server operation, using PVRX2 on both machines, may be a bit easier to set up.

Thank you very much for the help!

I'd say the web interface was easiest to set up - only one side needs anything doing and it should work out of the box (although updating to the latest version of EWA may help??).

There again, the client/server is easy enough and possibly easier to setup for remote viewing of recordings.

Now only if you had bought a PCH instead of the WDTV, it would have been so much easier Big Grin

Hopefully someone ports the remote client to the WDTV Live one day
