I am at wits end trying to setup my first client machine. Both Machines are Win 7 64-bit. I have turned off the firewall on the machines and even on the router and have shared out all folders.

When I try to view recordings it works fine under file streaming but I can not watch live tv.

I have viewed my logs and it appears like the client and server are not communicating but not sure why. Any help greatly appreciated. I will enclose my logs.

Yeah, its definitely a case of something getting in the way of communication. Its hard to guess what exactly, but it'll be something like the built in Windows firewall or some third party firewall or antivirus software.

I have turned off firewalls and uninstalled all antivirus programs trying to get this to work.

Guess it is a no go in my situation. I will just have to suffice with recorded shows.

Thanks for taking a look sub.

There is definitely something still running which is blocking this communication, or you've entered the wrong server name.

Is it possible I am not sharing out something correctly. Just triple checked the server name (though if able to view recordings and get channel lineup it must be right i would think).

I'm fairly sure your share is ok. The connection that is failing is connecting via TCP/IP to the communication port on the server.

Writing this down for anyone else with a similar problem....It is definitely a setting on the host machine. I have now attempted setting a client on a netbook with the same result.

Got a client running Win 7 x64, setup with no problems took about 10 minutes...however my server is on XP.

Just adding this as another piece to the puzzle, setting up shares in 7 is a pain in the arse are you sure yours are setup ok?

I am able to write delete and view my shares so i think they are setup ok. I have also tried the ip address with no changes.
