PQ with HDPVR

I'd be interested in hearing from HDPVR users, and what the quality of their recordings are - especially fast moving sports.

I was looking at getting one, mainly to record football from ym HD STB.

I have had my HDPVR for about 3 months. I recorded a lot of football on ESPNHD. I think the picture quality is great. I view all of my HDPVR recordings through NMT clients. The only time I ever had issues with the picture quality is when the recording bit rates were set down really low, which happened by accident when I was having some stability issues.

I had a lot of stability issues with mine at first. They have pretty much all gone away now though. My issues were mostly related to trying to use the HDPVR IR blaster to change channels on my STB. I switched to using a firewire to change channels on my STB and then these issues cleared up.

Setting up my system has been a learning experience, as I really had no idea different regions used different TV transmission systems (yah, as an ugly american, I just assumed everyone hewed to our system... ).

So, FWIW, my regions HDPVR hardware is listed in my sig. The quality is amazing (all OTA HD), but what you would expect for 6Gb/hr recordings. Football (soccer??) looks great, also!

Yeah, soccer. I did catch an NFL playoff games the other day on one of our HD sports channels, and it looked beautiful (we don't get ESPN HD here, so don't see too much of it in HD)
