Anybody know why half the time I click on the digital channels to preview them, gbpvr config freazes up? Then I get to go back and do 2 hours of channel mapping over again.

Can somebody look at this part of my logs and tell me if there is something wrong here? This was either immediately before or after this thing froze up on me.

In that log it looks like you tried viewing an encrypted channel.

Just so I know I'm not doing this wrong, isnt that just part of going through all the digital channels to map them? Like I mentioned in another thread, most of my channels show up as Encrypted and dont show an asterisk either, but are perfectly clear and viewable.

I have read that attempting to view a encrypted QAM channel can sometimes cause this freezing. I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure why it only happens to some people. It might be something to do with the way certain video decoders behave when passed this encrypted content. I'm unable to test QAM myself, and the encrypted channels in my part of the world behave better when you select them.

Best to avoid selecting encrypted QAM channels if you can.

Its usually does a decent job of identifying which channels are encrypted. If its getting it wrong there, it may not be getting long enough to look at the streams. In this case you could try increasing the <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds> value in the config.xml, then rescan.
