Adding new Tuner/capture card

Hello,

I am using a Chineese made USB based analog tuner / capture device. It has a RF input, CVBS, SVideo and Stereo Audio input. I need to add this to GB PVR application. I could not find a matching model for this device. I will be happy if anyone can help in this regard. Thanks.

Most USB analog devices don't have the necessary hardware encoder so it may not be useable with GBPVR. If you run filtercheck.exe and zip and post the resulting filtercheck.log, someone can tell you for sure and create an entry if it can be used.

Sorry, that device doesnt have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

Thanks for your guidance. I have another PCI based card. It has SAA7134 philips IC. Is it possible to use this card. I have a doubt after your suggestion that H/W encoder is missing with USB based devices. I have appended the filter log file for your reference. I think that it will not work? Can you correct me if I am wrong.

If you manage to get the "Software Recorder" plugin to work you can use both devices, that however, requires a pretty powerful cpu. Search for "software recorder" in this forum if you like to try. I'm not an expert but it seems to me that the pci-card can be used for digital tv.

Sorry, that has no encoder either.

Very few analog devices have an encoder. Devices that do are ones like the Hauppauge HVR-2200, PVR150/250/350/500, HVR1300 etc.

You could try Reddwarf's suggestion of using Software Recorder plugin. You might get lucky.
