I had several re-scan problems on the 24th which took a while to sort.
After increasing the BDA parser wait times I managed to get 2 scan files which when combined had most daytime Channels but about a third were "unknown" - fixed this with the freeview channel guide (the channel no's were correct)
Evening scan had the same problems but combining scan-cache files sorted it.

Yesterday I found Channel 4+1 and BBC Three had no picture! On investigation I found that The Video PID on both channels was completely wrong (in the 7000's) and flagged as H264!
I have noticed some of the channels are duplicated on different muxes at the present, this should go when we have to go through this all again the week after next.
Wife wants to know why our £16 freeview box upstairs only took one 5 min scan in the morning to do the lot (+ 10 mins to delete all the scum Channels)

Below for what its worth is my final scan-cache file.

I find that for whatever reason Channel 4+1 ALWAYS picks up the wrong VPID and has done for a while.

Thanks very much for the cache.....made life much easier. Nice having the BBC Mux so strong! It's just an UTTER, UTTER pain that they aren't actually going to put the strength up on the commercial muxes for such a long time!! It made me laugh that I got more reliable reception for "Gay Rabbit" than Quest or Virgin 1 (the latter being of greater interest.......).
Athlon XP 2800 > Asus A7N8X > Win7/64 > NPVR > Pinnacle DVB-T PCI > NovaHD-S2 for 28.2E > NovaS+ for 13E 19.2E > HD3450AGP: EVR/SAF

Pent Dx2 2.8GHZ > Intel D945GNT > Win7/64 > NPVR > 2x Nova HD-S2+ for 28E / 13E / 19E > Nova S+ for 1W 5W > BGT3620 > HD3450 PCIe: EVR/SAF

Metronic analogue for 19.2E

I also got lots of Unknown channels ... I used ScanChannelsBDA which worked ok and gave me a full list of channels but my attempts to edit the scan cache based on the log from ScanChannels did not go well ... so thanks for the scan files posted here.

Curiously, BBC3 and BBC4 were no problem ... I mapped them to CBBC/cBeebies and they worked fine.

Yeah- was getting the "unknown channel" thing too- I think (curiously) that the BBC mux 61 is so strong- it only happens for this one.

Just done a rescan with stage 2 and noticed that the 3 commercial muxes have scanned bang on frequency even with scan for offsets enabled. (They are now offset+)
It would seem that there is enough signal strength to lock on without then checking for offset (I saw Channel 58 scan + then - after it couldn't find any channels - 3rd time I remembered it is the new DVB-T2 HD Mux :madSmile but has picture breakup due to weak signal
I think changing these lines in the ini should force it to scan the offset:-

2=C56,754166,0,0,8

4=C59,778166,0,0,8

6=C62,802166,0,0,8

or change the scan cache after.

I will try rescanning tonight to check.

Lao - seems like you are on the ball again.

Any chance you could post your scan cache file or .ini file as I'm struggling to get a good scan.

Thanks.

The attached Mendip cache file was created today and should be good for all daytime channels.

Finally managed to get an offset corrected ini and cobbled a scan cache together with most of the channels (24 hours) both are tested and working - didn't see any junk in the cache file and the commercial muxes have the correct +166 ofset so less interference from the Welsh :eek:
If you spot anything iffy let me know.

Now to go and hand tune the £16 freeview box that behaved so well last time - Bloody Welsh :mad:
