Hi,

I have been using GBPVR for about two years now and am very happy with it. I would like to put an extender in the bedroom and am looking at a second hand PCH A100 and was wondering if someone in NZ had this combo and could advise if they'd had an issues?
I just want to know what to expect before actually buying one.

Cheers!

Doesn't play the AAC audio on our freeview DVB-T system (all channels except TV3), but Martin has got a way of transcoding it on the fly which seems to work very well.
(you have to launch those shows from the webradio plugin currently, unless that has changed)
Apart from that, I use an A100 for my mostly DVB-T based system.
Any non-native GBPVR files (mpg, TS) just drop back to the native PCH player, but I don't really have an issue with that. (the gbpvr interface comes back afterwards)

The NMTinstall process makes it easy to get it all going.

Thanks for the info.

I only use DVB-S, so don't believe my TS files are encoded with AAC?

Also, does the main GBPVR server know that the client is watching TV or a recording and avoid going into sleep mode?

No our DVB-S isn't AAC encoded, I use mine with analog & DVB-S recording & it works really well.

I have a friend I helped setup & he has his server automatically go to sleep & yes it stays awake while the NMT is attached. There is a post somewhere in the mvpmcx2 forum on how to set it up so the NMT will wake the server when turned on, you have to install onto a USB stick if I remember right, which isn't a problem really.

Clients like MVP and NMT when playing back a recording or live TV will keep the server awake. (except for a slight hiccup with the current version, where pausing playback lets the server sleep, on the fix list for the coming update I understand).
