I'm trying to set up a Harmony remote to control GBPVR through the PVR150 IR receiver (this is the "basic" PVR150 with the Hauppauge remote and receiver+blaster, not the MCE version). The Harmony database contains the PVR150 for both a "Media Center PC" and a "Desktop PC", but neither of these work. Anyone got this working, before I go through the teaching-learning process?

Thanks.

It should work. In GBPVR config.exe do you have it set to "Hauppauge remote" and did you hit the "fix hauppauge remote". And in your capture device that is doing the blasting do you have it set to haupblast.exe?

I have GBPVR set to use the Hauppauge remote, it is "fixed", and the Haup remote works just fine, as always.

When I add a device in the Harmony software, I choose Desktop PC, Manufacturer Hauppauge, and model PVR150. It selects WinTV-PVR150 and adds the device. However, the GBPVR box does not respond to the Harmony remote when I'm in the activity that includes the PC. I'm using the Hauppauge IR receiver that plugs into the PVR150. It isn't an MCE remote.

Did yours work by selecting a PC and then the Hauppauge card? Or, are you using an MCE USB IR receiver?

Thanks.

I'm not using the blaster; using firewire channel changing instead.

I'm sure gbpvr is listed inthe harmony database as well. I used to have it going. But had to change after I bought a samsung tv, the remote codes with the harmony and tv conflicted, so I set my gbpvr remote to be an MCE one. But it was there...

I've got a Harmony and set it up with codes for the Hauppauge HVR-1600 as the device to use for my "Watch TV" activity.

HVR-1600 has the same IR codes as the PVR-150, so give it a try.. it should work.

btw, it doesn't make sense to have a listing for GBPVR in the Harmony database, because GBPVR doesn't have it's own specific IR codes. GBPVR just responds to what your remote receiver system throws at it. If it's there, probably someone wasn't quite sure what they were submitting.

If all else fails, the Harmony can learn the codes from the Hauppauge remote. Laborious, perhaps, but it works.

When I had a PVR150 and the Harmony 550, I remember using the Device listing for "Media Center PC", and it worked for me.

I got it working by using the Harmony troubleshooting wizard. I had to teach the Harmony a few keys from the Hauppauge remote (Power (I used Green), Play and 1) and then it pretty much worked. Still had to do some tweaking as the Harmony database that it selected does not have the * and # keys that the Hauppauge has. Also, the Skip Forward and Skip Back keys didn't work right, so I had it learn those as well. It seems like ti still thinks it's a MCE remote.

Given the time I spent trying to get the Harmony system to work and then tweaking it to work right, I probably would have been time ahead to just have it learn all the Hauppauge keys.

Thanks for the help.
