Sorry I updated my post but you are too fast. My question

Re-reading your post I see you did use NMT Install but no I am unclear if you have a video problem or not. Is the problem only with audio? How is your audio configured HDMI, analog or SPDIF?

Also do you have AC3 passthrough enabled in your NMT (not GBPVR) Setup and if so does your TV/AVR support this?

I did have a problem before with some recordings of no sound or picture. On those instances I would see a very slow download ( approz 1Mbps) from my PC to the EGreat. Now I get video on the EGreat but no sound.

I can get sound on the EGreat from previous analog recordings and on Net Radio plug-in.

I have the EGreat setup configured to use HDMI audio and I am using an HDMI cable from the EGreat to the Tv. I tried changing to composite cable but so far no luck either.

In EGReat setup, I have DTS, AC3, AAC, and WMA Pro all set to "Digital Raw". As for the TV supporting it, I don't know how to tell but have the same problem on two different sets when I connect the EGreat to them.

Here are screen caps from CONFIG of what I think are the relevant pages.

I also tried to have the EGreat update its firmeware but it just came back after a while with the message "Request can not be Processed".

I don't know what the current EGreat Firmware version should be.

My unit says:
Firmware Version: 50-17-090204-15-EGR-403-073
Kernel Version: 15-EGR

When I go to EGreat's site and then go to Support, I get to the support for Popcornhours and all firmware releases are keyed to popcornhour models.

Ah there's the first clue (mpeg plays) and the problem Raw output. Change those to Analog (PCM).

I think that's the current firmware it has DTS down mix.

Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I changed all three to Analog and now have sound.

Out of ignorance, I thought that since this was a digital stream that I should set the Sound values to Digital rather than Analog.

This has been driving me crazy for the last few days trying to sort it out, even before I came to the board for help.

No problem, it's an understandable problem. It's actually too bad that HDMI monitors don't decode AC3, you pay for it with ATSC and Clear QAM anyway.

Isn't hindsight wonderful?

As I was thinking this over, now it seems obvious that the problem had to be within the EGreat since it was the only thing having problems outputting the file and I kick myself for not realizing this before.

What I still don't understand at all is why I had a spell where GBPVR said it had No Signal Detected when viewing Live TV but it could still record programs on those same channels. Have you ever seen something like this before?

I have no specific answer but live tv and recordings can/should use different tuners if you have a channel mapped on multiple tuners. mvpmcx2 has no control over this.

I have all the channels mapped to each of my tuners so I have the most flexibility in scheduling recordings. When I tested for the No SIgnal Detected, I would WATCH a channel, with no other recordings happening at the time. After that I would RECORD the program on that channel and then Play it back. Since both times (watching and recording) there was only one tuner active at the time, it should have been the same same tuner since they are assigned in a priority order.

Recordings and LiveTV go through tuners in opposite order it's not related to how many "active" tuners you have. Anyway this is not EGreat or mvpmcx2 related in any way, so if you need more explanation you can try the General forum.
